We took the Bronco to the city for the weekend and got 4 rock chips
Winter is so hard on windshields in our part of the world...
I'd love an Exo-Shield but it would just get wrecked by the inevitable winter ice scraping that comes with living in the frozen north.
We will try the hood protector to see if that helps - 2 chips were in the middle of the window, 2 were low by the wiper blades so not sure what if anything the hood protector will do.
I also ordered bulk windshield repair resin because I think the brick on wheels will likely be a rock chip magnet.

Damn sorry to hear that. I’m in the same boat, just a bit further north than you. I got two of the smallest dings 2 months in. Maybe I’ll try the resin. It may make me
Feel better. Mine are by the wipers in the middle

If you order from Nano Glass Repair be very careful. Their website is very confusing and I accidentally ordered 10 times what I wanted and when I contacted them they would not cancel the order so I could re-order the correct amount. When you order from them you get no confirmation before purchase. As soon as you enter your credit card, whack!!!!! You bought it. You can return it for a refund but it's at your expense. And to top it off, it didn't work on my crack but I can't say if that's because I waited for 3 weeks before I got it to do the repair plus it may have been too cold but I have enough for the rest of my life to try immediately for the next crack!!! Lol!!!!

I won't sell it just because I'm not convinced it will work at all yet and I wouldn't do that to someone. I'm just chalking it up to a shifty company.

Had rock chips at first then installed bug guard with ridge and it pushes wind over the windshield and seems to really help with rocks and bugs.

Given your remote location, I'd just LEAN into the whole off-road thing and call those 'trail trophies' - wear then with pride.

Ordering the deflector today.
I just spent the last 2 hours fixing rock chips. Total count was 4 nice stars and one crack 4 inches long. The crack and 3 of the chips were all at wiper blade level. Crazy...
Merry Christmas!!

Merry Christmas! Also helps with bugs. I would drive across WA and have to stop at a gas station just to clean the windshield so I could see before installing the shield.

The deflector definitely helps with small bugs but mine hasn't helped with rocks at all. I think a rock would have to directly impact the deflector for it to actually make a difference.

How's the weather in Yellowknife. We have a heat wave in Fort McMurray, just below freezing. T-shirt weather!

Strangely warm. Single digit highs for a few days. This time of year it’s mostly minus 40s but sometimes we luck out with minus 4s. Hope it’s good there, I imagine we’re sending it to you guys 🥰

I’ll probably catch hell for this opinion, but if you don’t tailgate, you probably won’t get rock chips. My son has a performance car with a windshield that’s laid-back dramatically compared to a bronco. He tailgates all the time and he gets rock chips. I keep my distance from other vehicles and I’ve never had a rock chip in decades of driving. As I drive down the interstate on a regular basis, I constantly see people right on somebody’s tail in front of them. It drives me crazy. And it’s so unnecessary. I have my adaptive cruise set to the furthest distance available, and I still feel like I’m too close to the vehicle in front of me. Old man rant over a sorry to caused aggravation to many.
