Looks like the Rock Rails are mounted to the frame arms and not the body directly...

2-Door w/Sasquatch under body shot.

Lots of armor under this body, and I'm liking what I see...

*Edit: As more details come out, the rails are body mounted similar to the Jeep Rubicon.

Thank goodness. I saw another thread stating they were to the body like the running boards, so I had that flagged as the 1st thing to change.

Thank you.

This is great. I had been sharing a previous spy shot that purported to show them mounted to the body.

Perhaps a layer design, or a different item all together.

That piece of metal mounted to the frame does not look that robust.

This is great news! Thank you for the info.

I assumed they would be frame-mounted when Ford stated they could support the weight of the vehicle, but it's nice to see a picture confirming that.

I believe that snapshot was the the Bronco Sport, which is mounted to the body.

The metal they are mounted to looks like the same body attachment points that the upper is mated to the frame. Need better pictured to confirm that's where the 'body on frame' attaches.

Supposedly the rails support the weight of one side of the vehicle, not the entire vehicle weight.

There's video of a quick look underneath and it definitely looked body mounted. Will try to find.

Looks to me what's circled in the OP is the body mounts and the rock rail mounts obscured behind them.

Around 2:27. Sure look body mounted to me, but it's a quick look.

Would ford really mount rock sliders to the body and not the frame?
That just seems crazy.
I refuse to believe that.
Way too many of their engineers and people on the project 4 wheel to let that happen.

Looks like the rear might be body mounted and maybe the front are frame mounted (jack points).
Need more photos...

yeah, cause what I'm seeing in your photo is the body mount attached to the frame, and then behind it is the rock rails, but you can't actually see what they are attached to. My guess is they are attached just like the rear mount, as I doubt anyone would use the body mounts to also mount rock rails. Would also be a bad idea to have one point attached to the frame and one attached to the body as the body has some movement on the frame.

Someone needs to go find one of these Broncos and take some definitive pictures underneath.
