Remove them, but not the whole thing, just the two clips closest to the doors is enough. It’s a turn of the knob and takes probably 10 seconds.

Looks great I might have to put black ones on my carb grey. It definitely needs something I like some of the stripes people are putting in up high. But both might be too busy. Now if I could move the bronco script down there somehow maybe towards the rear and clean up the fenders we might be interesting.

Sweet rigI always appreciated the simplicity of the rocker stripe offered on the first model year in 1966, so I made my own version with off-the-shelf striping tape.
I know some of the graphics suppliers that frequent here offer a version that is more dimensionally correct, but honestly, this one fits very nicely between the body creases. The tape seems to be very good quality but time will tell I suppose.
At any rate, for $18.99 and 2 hours "work" (aka playing around with my Bronco) it was a fun little project.

Just thought of this... Do they withstand a normal car wash? (or do you handwash?)It's holding up beautifully. Even with the 35" rock magnets continually pelting it, no dings in the stripes at all.
