Roof Mount Lighting Noise

Anybody with a Diode Dynamics or Baja Designs roof mounted light setup? Curious how much wind noise or whistle you’re getting from your setup…

Looking specifically for feedback from those with modular lights like those two brands offer, not so much a light bar, as they act much different.

I just added the Quake LED flush mounts and their 42" light bridge. I put 8 pod lights on the bridge and wired everything up. Took my Bronco on the freeway for the first time since I installed the bar. The wind coming through the light bar makes the soft top rattle something fierce! Thought I didn't reinstall the top right, but it turns out that adding the bar changes how the wind blows over the soft top. I saw a quick fix with a pillow, but I just may remove the light bar all together. Looks cool, but not worth the noise it creates.

We run the Baja Designs XL Linkable on our truck. No real noise at all. The only time we notice noise is when it's windy out, as the wind will change how the wind passes over the soft top. Otherwise it's not a big deal at all.

Can't help with the Baja type lights but i found a solution for the Rigid 40" curved light bar, no whistle and wind noise in minimal.

What is the solution? I having trouble deciding between Vision X and Rigid? Both 40" but I would like to get the one that has the least amount of noise.

Tough call... we're trying to put a brick on top of another brick. I did the bar due to garage clearance, in other words head height just clears about an inch to spare.

I drove in a Bronco with the Ford accessories rigid roof light bar. It whistled like Dixie. I chose to bumper mount mine. Love the functionality and looks way more.

Yes those roof light bars whistle because the wind flows over the fins. Basically like blowing across a straw, same concept.
