HELP! I have tried numerous ways to remove the roof rack on the 4door 2.0 mic top and the directions in the manual and videos are not comparable to the real process. The clips that are loosened with the triangle tools do not clear the lip on the top. Does anyone have any tricks that I am just not seeing. I have to disassemble the rack to get it off. The screws that hold the rack together also don’t fit any of the tips that come in the tool kit from Ford. The torx screws are not T25 or T30, but a rare T27 that hold the roof rack pieces together.

I struggled to get mine off. I had to use the triangle tool to completely remove the triangle head bolts before it released enough to free it. Certainly didn't go as shown on the Ford video. FYI restarting those triangle head bolts is a major PITA

I have taken it off three times now and tried to just loosen, tried to remove the triangles bolts (agree on the PITA to get them rethreaded in), but each time no difference. The metal clips that seat under the top do not clear it no matter what I do. The videos make it look like it just lifts off. The dealer looked at it and they said they had never taken one off and offered no assistance.

I removed ours. It was i PITA. I was able to get the clips to clear, barely by having a second person help and raise the front up about 1 ft and slide forward.

Question, where is this triangular tool?
Shouldnt it be in my tool kit with the other stuff?

Mine was in a baggie in the glove box with my covers for when the rack is removed.

I have the 2 door, but it was pretty easy on mine. Since I did it by myself I also removed the crossbars first so that I could then remove each side rail individually instead of the whole thing still together. I didn't need to remove the triangle bolts entirely, but loosened them quite a bit. You may need to wiggle it in and out to be able to loosen the clamp.

Only bad thing was I left two screws on the roof and drove away. Lost one, so now I'm trying to find a replacement.

Removing the rear crossbar definitely helps on first time removal on the 4dr!

Glad I’m not the only one who struggled. The back doesn’t lift off as easily as it’s demonstrated in the Ford video.

I did remove the rear crossbar and that seemed to help.
