Wanted to show the mod I made to the RC High Mount sensor holders to fit the Apex Badland 12000. Started puting this package together today:

Mountains2Metal camera relocation
RC High Mount Winch solution
Apex Badland 12000 Winch

Like many have shared, the sensor holder is too long for larger winches keeping the mounting holes from aligning. I cut the sensor holder at the center of the grove on the top flange. I left the bottom one alone. Then, I took the foam retainer spacer and put it on the back of the sensor itself. After that, some electrical tape was wrapped around it to help hold it together. This site right up against the winch and it does not budge.

Very happy with how this turned out. Shout out to Brian @ Northwest Bronco for the videos. They helped a lot!

I have a base bronco. Would any modifications be required to fit the badland 12,000 lb winch to the rough country high mount given the fact that I don’t have any sensors to deal with?

With the modular front bumper, other than having to cut the plastic covers by the tow hooks I don’t believe so.

Any photos with the high mount and Badland winch installed?

Looks great. Thanks!
Thanks. I didn’t put the plastic bumper covers back on because I didn’t want to dremel them to make them fit. Just took a black paint pen and painted the silver mounting bolts. It’s so industrial looking I think it looks fine without them going back on.

How far off the grille is it? I have an IAG tall bull bar that runs in front of the grille, I’m worried there wouldnt be enough space for it with this mount.
