Rough country winch mount unbox/ INSTALL tips.

I got mine installed except for trimming the plastic tow hook covers and wiring up the lights. You can mount up the mount to the bumper before attaching the winch and winch plate. Make sure you install the sensors before putting on the winch because it's difficult to put those screws and nuts on after. I didn't need to trim anything for my X2O gen3 winch.

My only complaint is it presses on the bumper face a little in the corners by the lower mount bolts (4th pic). It also completely blocks the camera, even if I were to relocate the control pack. Definitely needs a camera relocation kit.

I'm happy with this so far though!

Eh like 3 or 4 hours, I was taking my time, I'm sure you could do it faster.

Yeah the bolts are on the sides, super easy to swap even fully installed.

I can't tell how many threads are left on the bumper bolts. You may be able to use some long rectangular shims to bring it out more but I think that takes away from this mount's greatest advantage which is a great approach angle and minimal depth.

Not quite done yet, Need to cut the plastics and longer bolts for the light bar and relocation of the control pack. Factor 55 ultra hook is inbound as well. There is some difficulty and modding needed if using a warn winch though.

Details on the warn winch mounting difficulties? That’s what I have and the RC winch plate is in transit.

The locking caps for the sensors will not fit with the warm as shown

I ended up using zip ties and some electric tape to lock it in, nothing crazy.

Oh cool, yet another perk of the base model. No sensors to relocate!

I was almost gonna go with that Warn VR but 4WP had a $100 off offer for the Smittybilt so I went with that. I guess I got lucky since I didn't need to trim the sensor holder caps at all.

RC's instructions tell you to trim the cap on one side even with their brand's winch.

I also have a Factor 55 Flatlink E arriving tomorrow. I don't care for the hook that came with my winch either.

I brought the winch plate out on mine a little more because of the grill guard I’m running, but worked out well. Drilled my own holes. Still have to trim the bottom plastic pieces as well

Got my LOD frame reinforcements, sensor holders and am ready to install! To bad the dealer called and they haven’t got my bronco fixed yet. . One of these days I’ll get it done.
