Ok with your order out of the way and now waiting..... Anyone planning a trip? I'd like to take the Bronco to the Rubicon Trail one day but it is 2,000 miles away for me.....

Moab and Black Bear Pass are on the list also.

Those are all on my list too. I will hit them eventually. Living in Missouri makes it hard to do it without extensive planning though!

Blackbear and the the Alpine loop are on my short list. Maybe we St Louis area folks can make a pilgrimage to southwest Colorado

I have done Moab, want to do BBP at some point, and live next door to the Rubi and camp up at Bucks Lake at least once a year. As we travel via MH a lot in the summer and tow, I envision hitting a lot of trails, both easy and relaxing, and hard and white knuckle exciting!!

I think you have to have a Jeep or Trail Rated badge to drive the Rubicon. Jeep trademarked it or something.

We tend to go to CO in the fall even if I don't get a snowboarding trip in the winter. My plan if Bronco is in hand this year is to hit up some trails over our stay. We generally stay in Keystone and red cone/ that area is on the list for sure. Looking at some trails around Georgetown and empire. Thinking a day or two trip to Estes.

Jwall...we are in the same town...lol. I am in Crystal Creek kinda across from the new town hall off the parkway.

I did all those locations (Colorado, Moab, Rubicon Trail) from Pittsburgh in my Jeep and can’t wait to recreate the trip with the Bronco. Plan it and you can make it happen, so worth it!

There is no requirement for anything (like having a Jeep) to run the Rubicon Trail. Believe it or not, the reason the Rubicon Trail is open to anyone is that it is actually considered a real state road. Environmentalists have sought to close/block/stop use of this but because it is literally a real road (as per California and Nevada) they cannot block or close or impede passage on a state road, although this is an ‘unmaintained road’. So, anyone can run it/drive on it but in reality you need min of 33s (preferably 35s), under carriage protection/bash plates, and lockers to actually make it the whole way.

So have at it (but best to bring parts and a buddy or two).

Here‘s the history of the Rubicon Trail. https://www.rubicontrailfoundation.org/rubiconhistory/

But as a Jeep owner, you guys have a secret handshake (called the Jeep wave) or something, right?

Yes, a Sas can make it the whole way. On the trail there are some major obstacles and a good driver on Sas can make many of these, although 1 or 2 major extreme ones you can do the bypass/go around the major obstacle. The toughness of the Rubicon Trail Is not a few obstacles but more so that the entire 22 mile length you are constantly picking your line and thinking because there are barely any easy sections to just coast through. It’s amazing, the scenery is great and a must do bucket list for anyone with a Bronco (or Jeep).
