If that's one of the Broncos on tour here in So Cal I would not think anything of it. When I saw them yesterday they had appeared to have been driven through hard weather. I talked with them about it and they mentioned a Colorado snow storm and lots of hard mud wheeling.

You think they would have them detailed.

To answer your question, unpainted steel rusts. Rust helps protect some high carbon steels. I wouldn't worry about it.

That's actually a terrible porn name when you picture it.

Might as well be called dirty dick.

Shelby’s used to have the same issue. Some guys pulled them, sanded them down and painted them. A lot of work but they did look nice. then again those guys all took their cars to car shows

Took these non-sas suspension pics today. Took a closer look and the drive shafts look rusty. Normal? Concern? Thanks.
I believe the larger issue at hand is users not using the search function before making new threads.

Think i'm wrong? Go give the title search function a try for "rust" and see what threads come back.

Doubtful i'm the only person concerned about this (based on PM's).

Surface rust is not a bad thing. It's the metal protecting itself. Look at things of the past with un-painted frames. The frame is never the problem rusting out, its the sheet metal that's painted that rusts out badly. Trapping moisture and contaminants in between steel and coatings is where problems start.
