I think there is a consensus that the biggest issue delaying VIN assignment on earlier reservations is the MIC top. While Ford did say the 2.7L may become a constraint option, it sounds like it isn't much of an issue right now.

I also went with the 33's and optional wheels. I haven't seen them in person but glad to hear your take on them. I made it to a Bronco event a couple of weeks ago and I did get to sit in a Black Diamond with MGV and an OBX with leather. I'll just say that I'm glad that I went with MGV instead of $2200 more for the leather. I think you will be happy with it.
I tried to get a good shot of the wheel but pics don't do it justice. It was much bigger than I expected and aggressive. My salesman said he went on an event and side by side to a SAQ you couldn't tell that much of a difference. I'm totally satisfied with that wheel and loved the look of the vinyl from the outside.

I taught my wife to drive manual and she's been doing fine with it for over 7 years. Don't let your wife stop you. She can easily learn.

That said, with the heavy Badlands I'd definitely go for the 2.7L. You'll be happy with that decision long term and you'll get your $$ back if and when you decide to sell it.

Softtop, not for me! Been there, done that several times. Loud, easy to break into, doesn't last well. Get the hard top if you want it and wait!

No way I'd settle on so many things like you're talking about.

I’ve been toying with the 2.3L as well… Lots of positive things being said on it, however will I be upset down the road without the 2.7L? I don’t know… Such first world problems…
I just switched to the 2.3L manual BL with upgraded rims. I figure this is my forever car and and a manual will be fun and probably worth some money someday since they are hard to come by now "just wait 10 years". BTW my wife hates manual trans, I haven't told her about the switch. She just asked me to get down to $50,000 so I did (-;

My vote is get exactly what you want , and wait for it if you have to.

The transmission vs wife thing seems to be the biggest concern. Happy wife, happy life.

I don’t get all these people bending the knee and adjusting there builds to get something they didn’t want just to be one of the first to be seen in a bronco.

There’s plenty of conversations on the 2.3L vs. 2.7L online/these forums if you search. Some good arguments either way.

At the end of the day I will likely stick to my 2.7L decision for two reasons:
  1. I keep posting on this forum the importance of sticking to your initial order/build specs that YOU want and not giving in to POSSIBLY get your vehicle built a bit earlier. So I can’t be a hypocrite.
  2. I know at the end of the day I’ll be happier to get the 2.7L and a bit more power/largest option I could get.
I think by making this post I’ve confirmed that I will stick with a 2.7L. Who knows… 2.3L could be a constraint part next week with people jumping ship…

I am a firm believer that there will be many folks on here who kick themselves down the road because they removed an option or changed their options just to get it slightly earlier. Sure, maybe you think I’m jealous of those who have received build weeks/VIN’s, but that’s not the case here - I want the vehicle that I WANT, not the one Ford is indirectly pushing some folks towards.
Honestly he couldn't confirm that the 2.7L would hold it up this year but did say it would definitely get here quicker if I went 2.3... To tell you the truth I'm with you. The soft top is one thing because I can get that down the road.. but the engine... I strongly leaning to calling them again in the morning. I hope their not pulling my leg about a 2021 build.. I mean I put my order in 12-2020... and changed it thinking I got knocked back.. so we will see.

That's awesome. I think those wheels are a bargain for $995. By the way, and you may know this, but we get the BFG KO2s standard (those Goodyears are another $695). I actually prefer the BFGs so I'm good with that.

Don’t settle, get what you want. Personally the 2.3 vs 2.7 does not matter. The 2.7 isn’t going to be much faster in a 5000 lb box, mpg is the same, and $1800 up front vs resale value isn’t a large number. I’m worried the soft top is too loud and the MIC top will fade into a POS in three years. So I’m waiting on the black MOD top.

This was awesome! After all... she has her own cars in the driveway so I need to be a little selfish here :D

I spoke to the “Bronco Specialist” at my local dealership (Keep in mind, I’m Canadian so no idea if there’s a difference on order selections, etc. From the USA).

He mentioned ALL of his 2.3L reservations have scheduled to build, and a handful of 2.7L’s. That’s what got my wheels turning this morning on this, and I told him that, and his response just now was “hang onto the 2.7L” and basically I’d regret it down the road if I did change it. His opinion, of course, but he also has a Bronco on order so I respect his opinion.

I get what your saying. But I sold my 2019 Stang GT for the Bronco this year .. its my daily driver. I only have my 04 Mustang GT and that is my old school weekend convertible. I will most likely buy something else other than the Bronco if I have to wait that long so I figured maybe sacrifice the top and engine to get what I want.

I also see you have Antimatter Blue on order.... I wanted that color but didn't see the blue as much that I wanted.. what are your thoughts on that color?
