Pro tip:
Crystal Lake up Bristol Head has some very good fishing.

Or at least it did the last few years.
I haven't been there this year.

I did the Alpine Loop June 6th, just 2-3 days after the passes were opened. It was great and we didn't have any trouble until the end, when I took a wrong turn down Mineral Creek. That was rough, with standard Big Bend tires, but we made it out before dark. If you do it, make sure you totally understand the route and any side trips. We tried another side trip in the morning, but snow across the trail made us turn back. In all, we spent 12 exciting hours doing that loop.
