I finally got my bronco last night. I live on a 2000 ft gravel driveway so mudflaps are a must. I got these at advance auto parts for 12.99. I shot 2 screws thru the raised part of the fender well to attach them. I wedged the bottom onto a contour of the wheel well to hold it in place. I plan on upgrading once a reasonably priced (not $439) is available. I also plan on swapping out the silver screws for black. For $12.99 they work well.

UPDATE- after 3300 miles I had 4 chips on the right, 8 on the left. I removed the 12.99 flaps and installed the $23 larger flaps from Advance for more coverage. They screwed on the same way and are holding well just like the first pair.

... On that first picture, did a Sasquatch kick your fender flare? Looks like a big foot print lol

(I realize this is probably just a hand print)

Yea my handprint. Really heavy fog this morning left dew all over it.

Wonder if those will stay in place at highway speeds with just the two screws. Might have to add another.

So far they are holding at 60 mph. When I hit the highway I’ll post again.

I bought these same ones but then junked them because I didn’t think they would hold well without screwing into the body which I wasn’t going to do. Maybe I was wrong.

the gatorback ones are amazing, click on and off if you're off roading. however, they are expensive.

So nothing is holding the bottom into place? I imagine cutting it to slide onto the rock rail would do the trick.

The flap wedges into a raised place on the wheel well. It keeps it from rotating as well as proving support to keep it from going rearward.

I think that's the ticket until a better design comes along. You drilled into the raised hollow piece above the latch, correct?

Yes. I used 10 x 5/8 screws with washers.

This looks like the perfect solution until a reasonable custom fit one hits the market. Thanks for sharing OP.

PS, did you guys know the fender flares have a hollow channel that runs the length of it with several holes? Great place for rocks and mud to buildup. They do pop off easily to wash it out, but until you do that you don't realize how much has filled that channel.
