Like others have said, snow tires have softer rubber that stays flexible in cold weather. This helps shed the snow from the treads. However, even those are not very good on ice. For ice, you need studs or chains or perhaps the impregnated tires someone else spoke about. The Goodyear’s will be fine in snow if you know how to drive in it. If you get into black ice, no brakes, hard turns or stomping on the gas. Remember what Einstein said.
