Very informative without the standard youtuber fluff. Good showing the ranger/bronco differences. The wheel/tire weight is serious, and that is with a light 35" goodyear. A toyo or nitto will have you deep into the 90/100lb range. Thats nbd for big trucks, but is a lot of stress to engineer for on something mid sized. Its pretty cool to be able to buy a vehicle engineered and stress tested for that.

1) how much should a 35" tire and wheel weigh? (Good info for upgrading).

2)has anyone posted RTI scores yet?
Tire weights below - Ford did a good job spec'ing a really light tire.

Wrangler MT 315/70/17 is 52lbs
Nitto ridge grappler 315/70/17 is 70lbs, 35x12.5x17 is 75lbs
BFG KO2 315 is 62lbs, 35x12.5 is 66lbs

Overrated how? It does what its designed to do, and gives you extra articulation in situation where you need it. Add a lift and you add longer swaybar links. Nothing is going to "push you" to go manual...hell, you couldn't convince me to manually disconnect sway bars if I had the option
The SBD certainly works and is effective but I think itā€™s overrated on this forum. Iā€™ve had multiple Jeep Wrangler Rubiconā€˜s and I went on all kind of crazy trails connected and disconnected. I always made it no problem. The Bronco will be the same. Keep in mind, Iā€™m on the East Coast.

Dan Edmunds has to be one of the most underrated channels on YouTube. Clear explanation of how everything works, even weighed the tire/wheel at 87.5lbs, (35s aren't light :)):

Hopefully we'll see this Bronco on his RTI ramp in the next video.
That was really cool to watch. I can't figure out how to message him, but I wish he would evaluate a regular Bronco without the Sasquatch like an OBX or a Big Bend so we can see the difference between standard suspensions and the Sasquatch suspension!

Glad he agrees with me on the non-sas Badlands 2-door being the best of the best.

Now if I could just get my hands on mine...

With the wheel?
That's just the tire weights. Now add a 30-35lb wheel, and then have to spin it up to 50-70mph. That's what kills the fuel mileage.

Great video.

Interesting to see the stone guard on the rear shock remote reservoirs. I donā€™t recall seeing that on any of the pre-production Broncos.

Also interesting to see how thick the rotors are. Thatā€™s a good thing as modern lightweight rotors are prone to warping.

I can attest to the weight of Squatch wheel and tire. Picked this up the other day. Switched out with spare and had it patched. I donā€™t plan on putting miles on that tire. Kinda sucks after only 3500 miles.

I'm still trying to figure out the difference between the BL and SAS shocks/springs. I cant imagine they build a badlands non SAS and a badlands SAS with the exact same setup but one has springs that are 10MM taller.

Yep, pretty much the same, except what you said. Looking at the specs the BL SaS travel is slightly limited vs the regular Badlands, obviously because of tire clearance with the 35's vs 33's. The difference isn't much, though. To get the most travel without doing much with 35's, get the regular BL, add 1" spacer lift, and put 35's on it. You'd end up with about .5" more lift than a Squatch and the same travel as a regular Badlands. The only difference in the whole package, compared to a Squatch, would be the 4.46 rather than 4.7 diff gear ratio.

Oh, and great video. Good explanations.

I agree, I canā€™t find anything even close to that wrangler MT in terms of weight. Iā€™m sure there are lighter 17ā€ wheels out there that donā€™t sacrifice strength. I should take a look but Itā€™s a deep rabbit hole haha.

Lucky I guessā€¦. I have a 7 minute commute to work, but there is a lot of construction in the area.
Something interesting is that at delivery, the tires were filled to 45 PSI though the suggested tire pressure is 39. I had let out some air to recommend pressure, but when I picked it back up, the local Ford Dealership had aired them all back to 45ā€¦.. Am I missing something???

ā€œIt slots in halfway between a Wrangler and 4Runner.ā€

Sounds about right.
