Can anyone with Jeep Wrangler experience comment on the Rubicon’s turning radius? I’m coming from a Raptor Supercab and it is surprisingly agile with an incredibly tight turning radius. It’s actually pretty great for some city driving believe it or not. I know the bronco has trail turn assist but I’m not sure you can use that on pavement. Given the suspension geometry of the new bronco and the it being independent, do you guys think that it can have a relatively tight turning radius given that it is intended for off road use mainly?

I’m daily driving a Ranger Tremor right now, which is the same chassis and shares a lot of components with Bronco. Turning radius is a bit sharper than your Raptor, I believe. I was out turned a teeeensy bit by a 4 door Jeep Wrangler but I think it was tire size. The Jeep was on 30s while I’m on 32s. It was super close.

I would expect Bronco to do about that well, not counting trail turn assist.

good question. I think I remember somebody in one of the many videos commenting that it has a really good turning radius, but there's no way of finding that again. It looks pretty agile in the videos, it'll probably beat my Tacoma, which actually is quite good too.

Can't wait for real world info/reviews/videos once these land on people's driveways!

trail turn may be helpful on asphalt. In a pinch!
You can only use trail turn in 4H or 4L. Besides being a pain to activate all of that to use it, it probably won't be good for the vehicle to use it on pavement.

from the manual:

"Note: Do not use trail turn assist on dry,
hard surfaced roads. Doing so can produce
excessive noise, increase tire wear and may
damage drive line, or braking components.
Trail turn assist is only intended for slippery,
or loose surfaces."
And yes, 4H or 4L only of course.

so no fancy parking maneuvers at the mall :-D

The Bronco is based on the next gen Ranger. It's not clear yet how similar the chassis is to the current Ranger.

Figures, this makes sense since it is applying the break

Sounds painless:
While in four-wheel drive high or four-wheel drive low, press the trail turn assist button to turn the feature on. trail turn assist will be on at this time but will not activate until: • Vehicle speed is less than 12 mph (19.3 km/h). • Rear differential is fully unlocked. • Steering wheel is almost fully turned to the left or right. You can turn off trail turn assist by doing any of the following: • Pressing the trail turn assist button again. • Selecting a two-wheel drive high, or four-wheel drive auto. • Turning on the rear locking differential
