Has anyone added a 7 pin connection? Is there some reason that’s so much more difficult. I canceled towing to get my Bronco sooner (it worked) and don’t need it at this time. I’m considering a jet ski or boat though and would rather spend a bit more money/time to install a 7 pin, even though it’s likely overkill.

Initially I’ll just bolt on the already ordered hitch for cargo and bikes. Wiring would be more of a summer project.

I would add to that statement: If I have the need for 7 lines and trailer brakes in the future I can always add it. People have been adding aftermarket trailer brake controllers to Trucks and SUVs for decades. It would just take some extra effort.
Exactly, I had my BMW X3 wired up for a 7 pin. Though it was easy since the battery was in the trunk so that line was quick, then for the controller I just had to run another wire up to the front and there I hid it under trim. It just takes a little bit of work and yes, not as easy as just plugging in the harness like I did on my Jeep.

My 1900 TT has electric brakes, and while I can get away with not using them, why not use them if they are available?

Yes, and I would argue that most towing less than 3500lbs won't need a 7 pin.
I need a 7pin. Plan on getting an off-road camper like the Patriot Camper X3.

Then by all means, add the 7 pin. There were plenty of them available in the aftermarket. I just chose the 4 pin for my needs.

Hello, I thought I'd share my tow package build. I have not looked for a similar post so apologies if it's a repeat. But here is my self made Tow package. I removed the factory tow package to hopefully get built quicker, and it worked. Here is my parts list, and a quick install review:

Parts:

1. Curt wiring kit p/n: 56468 - $79.82 (etrailer.com)

2. Curt Receiver Hitch: 13493 - $104.31 (toysfortrucks.com)

3. Wiring Connector: Road Tough - $16.89 (Amazon)https://www.amazon.com/Road-Tough-W...ix=road+tough+trailer+connector,aps,79&sr=8-1

Total: $201.02
Savings over Stock: -$393.98

Hitch install, easiest I've ever done. Seriously. It took less than 15 minutes.

Wiring, was relatively easy other than the Wire running to the battery. Had to get creative on that one.

Total install time: 2(ish) hours.

Conclusion: I got my Bronco early, and saved $400. Totally worth it.

Thank you for sharing. I went out to look at the hitch and found something interesting, this should fit a 2022 base bronco right? It fits a 2021...

This is probably the best solution for me, as I’ll probably only ever use the hitch for a motorcycle carrier. Thanks for the info 🤙🏻

Yes, should be the same for 2022. Where did this fitment info come from?

I have a 22 Badlands and it fit fine. I'd check the Curt website directly. Or maybe even call them.

Agreed on that one. Could even celebrate with a bottle of some single barrel JD!
I'm more of a Blanton's guy myself, but yes. I'm happy with the result!
