City boy...!!!!Took the SAS BD out for what I though would be an easy drive down a log road. Little did I know that at the turn around it was soft unpacked snow about 3.5ft deep. Tried to dig out for about an hour, ultimately had to call a local recovery shop and wait for them to send out a CAT to drag me out. I was hung up on the entire front end and had 0 supplies lol. Take this as a lesson to never leave your recovery gear at home or face a $650 tow out from a local CAT
Weather was beautiful and I couldn't do anything but have a laugh at myself and enjoy the weather
If I had one...in Michigan we use tree limbs and a jack would have gotten you out in no time.
factsCity boy...!!!!
Out near golden. Was just tryna snowshoeWhere were you, BTW?
Christ I should have packed gloves lol... I was so unprepped because it was just a 'log' roadShould have packed your shovel and recovery boards!
I drive to some pretty remote job-sites and iced highways are pretty much standard. Those are just a winter set for snow/ice/road driving. 3 peak rating is mandatory for some sites and roads and I didn't want to shell out for the Nokians. I know KO2's are 3 peaked, but they blow chunks on ice which is what I need em for.Thats a bummer but at least you got out and enjoyed the weather during your wait lol. Out of curiosity, why did you order SAS then put street tires on it? Save gas?
Was curious what tires those were. They definitely don’t look like they like the deep stuff.Yeah those tires weren't doing you any favors. Expensive lesson but glad you're laughing and have a story to tell
Toyo GSI-6. Great tire for ice and maybe 6" of snow. Trash for deep snow, I did not intend to take them there lolWas curious what tires those were. They definitely don’t look like they like the deep stuff.
Good times, good stories after the fact... Snow was a little deeper than a speed bump at the mall eh... hahaha!!!Took the SAS BD out for what I though would be an easy drive down a log road. Team 2 Door...
Now that's a purpose built truck. I would love to get a 110! Is the motor original w/upgrade or did you do a swap?
I was on 15 psi and was stuck on a glacier with no gear and no signal because weather blew away road closed sign. Luckily a guy with a monster stuck came to goof around the area and found me. He told me to lower it to 5psi and give it a try, no beadlock, it rolled off the snow and I was able to get back to the pavement and found the
road closed sign on the ground on the way back.
Its all good, just having fun! Wish we had that kinda of snow, Jersey shore.... Yeah, it's sad.Starbucks is usually plowed before I get there mate.
