@sjp excellent post, last time things got really out of control Ford's Mike Levine actually responded here on the forum.

What do you say @mike_at_ford can you please help with some clarification?

This thread link below has blown up and you have a lot of upset Bronco customers because Ford broke its promise to deliver Broncos on a first come, first served basis.

https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/thre...ons-ordering-dates-build-date-estimates.5793/
I had an idea that reservation numbers wouldn't mean squat from the beginning. There's way too many variables for Ford to cater to every single reservation in a perfect order.

Think about it. Your going to have people canceling that alone will change the order. Then you'll have building Broncos during official order time a certain way with special options and accessories that might run out or not be available for some time. So is Ford supposed to stop producing because your reservation number was ahead of someone's Bronco that has all the parts available?

A lot of parts and accessories are outsourced. Supplies are going to run into issues. Especially with Covid-19. Its going to be a crap shoot. Theres no way in Hell Ford can build these Broncos in perfect order of reservation numbers and time stamp. It sounds good but just not reality.

@Gloff
Will Serramonte Ford be able to go below x-plan pricing? As you already know, there is a large interest in this type of deal.

I understand that no Bay Area dealer will be able to come close to matching Granger type offers. However, if your dealership is willing to go below x-plan pricing, you'll convince a lot of reservations to switch to you.

How many commitments do you need in order for your dealership to seriously entertain this idea? PM if you can not say in public. I'm sure all of us who are interested can work via PM to get the numbers needed.

We all understood delivery was never going to be in "perfect" order, but would be batched with "similarly configured Broncos", not large dealer vs small dealer, previous deliveries of SUVs, competitive demographics, etc. Nope, not listed anywhere in what was signed up for.

Believe me i get it. It just never made sense to me with everything going on how they where going to accurately pull it off. Just way too many variables.

Thank you for the questions. I can only speak to things that are not confidential, and for that I'm sorry. I'm going to approach this from a slightly different perspective. Consider for a moment that Ford has 165k reservations on Bronco. If we spread them evenly, that's about 50 Broncos per dealer. But we know that they won't be spread evenly, big dealers are big for a reason. Galpin Ford sells to the Greater LA area of nearly 20m people. My store serves an area of less than 10 million. It stands to reason that dealers in smaller areas will have less people buying Broncos, and areas with more people more. That's just the plain surface, then you have things like demographics that change what vehicles are popular. I haven't looked at any numbers (I'm too low in the system to have that kind of access), but I would logically think that bigger dealers in big markets are going to have more reservations with a few exceptions along the way. Thinking about it from this perspective, a lot of people would have to switch their reservations from multiple regional dealers to one dealer to be anything other than a small anomaly. Likely hundreds of customers. Off the top of my head, in our Market we have Serramonte, San Leandro, Towne, Marin, James, Morgan Hill, Capitol, Frontier, Sunnyvale and Mission Valley. If we took the average, that's 500 Broncos. But the SF Bay Area is a Major metro, so I suspect there's probably much more than 500 reservations. 50 customers switching in this scenario would still only be 10% of the total. That would grab attention, but you'd have to organize 50 people to put their faith in one dealer all at the same time. If I had that power...

The best deal is subjective, if this were handled as a normal vehicle in Fordland, we'd be talking markups all over the place, but this format gives the customer a lot of control, and dealers know that, hence the low rate of markups among dealers. That said, anything below MSRP would be a win in my eyes. If you're getting X-plan, be happy, that's a steal for the most anticipated vehicle since the original Mustang. FWIW X-Plan to invoice is in the range of $50-$200 on most models.

While I'm not the guy, and I don't claim to know absolutely everything, I'm aiming to help here. We're still very early in the process. The only thing I can preach is patience, we're all anxious to get our Broncos, but that won't make it any faster! Ford has already been more transparent on this model than many of the other enthusiast vehicles I've seen launched in the past.
You didn't answer even one of my questions. You wasted my time with a bunch of useless information that completely avoids the questions. And took the time to insert URLs to sites and information I don't give two Fs about. Then topped it off with a "We're all anxious to get our Broncos blah, blah, blah." Basically using my question to brag about your product. If you only knew how repulsive that kind of response is to a buyer. It's the stuff they were teaching back in the 1990s, and it doesn't work anymore. (Hint: People can see right through it, and they don't like being manipulated.)

You Ford people should understand that your customers are every bit as bright as you are, and stop treating us like fools. Some of us are highly educated, extremely intelligent, and have decades of sales and marketing experience. Some of us have been customers long enough to know a BSer when we see one. And some of us are just tired of getting jerked around.

Thank you for your "transparency." You're about as transparent as the dozen or so other Ford dealerships that I've called in the past month.

No need to respond. If I want a commercial I'll turn on the TV.

@sjp OUTSTANDING, thank you.

@Gloff admitted upfront he was an average salesperson so I don't think anyone of thought this thread was anything more than an infomercial for his dealership.
I expect early Bronco customers to consist of a large contingent of enthusiasts that will know more than the average salesperson.

Candidly, I don't know exactly why. My best guess is that the take rate would be low, as many of those customers would be looking at Ranger to fill that need.
Thanks Sean. If you ever hear anything or are asked about the community opinion on the matter please relay back and forth. There is a small but passionate population on this forum that is very concerned about the towing. Small but passionate, just like the stick shift crowd that Ford catered to at what must have been a much larger investment than a max tow package would be.

I didn’t realize that Ford still has to decide if and what trim Broncos will qualify for Xplan. Anyone have any further info on this? I just thought Xplan applies across the board of dealer is accepting it.

I believe Mike Levine said the Bronco will qualify for Xplan and when I called customer servce they confirmed it. The only model in question is the FE as it's a limited 7000 unit run. Your dealer does have the option to opt out of Xplan, so you might want to confirm with them before the October 31 dealer switch deadline. Better to be safe then sorry.

The one question I found in your post was at the end “Can you tell us all what’s going on?” Sean’s shorter response should have been “I signed on Bronco 6g today, I have no idea what’s going on and even if I did, I probably couldn’t tell you”. I want to hear Ford’s official position on this as well but I don’t think beating up a local internet sales dealer gets us closer to an answer. I also think Sean might be in the “good guy” category like Eric in San Diego and Albert in Iowa.

We don't require any additional purchases/features (I assume you mean vin etching, undercoating, antitheft et. al.)
Haven't looked into it, heard a lot about it, and will be discussing with Matt (the GM). Granger is offering quite the deal.

Ha, if your middle and last names are the same, we'd have to talk!
First and last match, let's see about middle.
I'm Sean Michael McLaughlin.

Like I said, most dealerships are not going to touch the Granger and Stevens deal.

In 2010 when the Raptor came out, only 2 dealerships in the entire country had an official policy of invoice and no other dealers would commit to invoice.

goodluck!

The bad news is that not one dealership in California stepped up to the plate
