@Boston182 you have been on the forum and contributed great information many times, so welcome to the fanboys club. But seriously, as a car buyer, I look at every vehicle I buy as a tool, I want to learn what features and functions that tool has, that what us engineers do, it has nothing to do with being a fanboy.

Your not, I'm just pointing out the fact you called the rest of us "arrogance, ignorance, and uneducated"

We welcome new dealers with additional knowledge about the Bronco. There are a number of other dealers on the forum who have earned the members respect for the information they have provided. Unfortunately @Gloff joined the forum right when Ford blew the place up with their change of policy on reservations. When we asked questions we heard, I don't know, I can't say or the typical spin answer you expect from a salesperson, this does not inspire our confidence that he is "more in-tune with communication than we are".
Part of me doesn't want to continue this argument, because it's like talking to a wall. But I have to say one thing...

If you don't think berating a helping hand doesn't make you arrogant, ignorant, and uneducated, then I'd tell you to take a long look at yourself. You can chalk it up to timing or whatever you want. But this guy doesn't have all the answers and came to clarify what was within his knowledge/power. He isn't the asshole. The ones that attacked him are. And you can decide which side you want to be on. Seems like you chose the asshole side by siding/quoting sjp.

I'd pity you if you mattered to this local-dealer conversation.

North7 you are one of only three people I follow on this forum because I like most of your posts and thanks for the spreadsheets (grew up Arlington, Denton TX before CA) I think part of the problem is that the national members are looking for answers to why Ford is messing with our reservations and us in the Bay Area are still just looking for a dance partner (Car shipping is hell to Bay Area) How about we all call a truce while we in the Bay Area try a little local negotiating?

Spot on. This is a local conversation. Seems like the ones muddying the conversation with high expectations are not local.

Frankly, the demand is such that I find it interesting Granger is offering anything close to invoice, let alone below, and good on them for doing it. I don't know how many reservations they'll end up with, but I'm not sure the sort of numbers required to move the needle are within the realm of possibility. Think about it: 1% of total nationwide reservations to date would be 1650 units.

That said, I will speak with Matt on a Bronco6G specific offer, I did something similar with the Focus RS at the RS Forum years ago.
Appreciate the attempt to answer my question. I know all of us are eager to see what you can come up with.

A lot of people want all the juicy inside information right now, even if I had it, I couldn't share it anyway. I was trying to clear up misconceptions that I read (most prominent was bad X-Plan information). Higher level questions about allocation, timing, and internal Ford production policies were added. Those things are trade secrets, and even if I knew them, I wouldn't share.

What my point was, is that people on this forum are oversimplifying the process of bringing a new vehicle to market. As if Ford is intentionally trying to piss off their consumer base.

As an engineer, you know that each vehicle has thousands of components, from dozens of suppliers. That is a delicate dance that takes months to set up. We're at least 8 months from the assembly line putting out customer vehicles based on what Ford announced (Delivery target June '21) and a lot of guys on here want to know about allocation for 3300 plus dealers?

Like all ya gotta do is stop for a second and really think about it.

I would be interested in changing dealers, not so much for a great deal (I have X-plan), but for a connection with the dealer. Future Ford, Walnut Creek Ford have not made any effort to reach out.
Do you want in on the group buy? https://bit.ly/3cAfVjm

Part of it is that we would like to get some sort of minor deal in exchange for changing over all of these reservations but another part of it is just as a means of confirming a dealership that is a bit more down to earth and willing to play ball with customers. I've bought from both of those dealers and my current res is Livermore and I haven't heard anything from them either. Hoping to at the very least, single out the cool dealership around here.

@Gloff To be blunt, I'm already more impressed with your communication than I am with my local dealership. Both with your willingness to engage on these forums and the apparent honesty of your replies - as well as how you've reacted to some recent comments.

I'm not quite ready to switch my reservation, as I'm still hopeful those of us in NorCal can find a dealer able to offer some sort of additional incentive, but your dealership is certainly on my radar. (We still have to talk about some sort of McLaughlin discount as well :sneaky:).

Anyway, thanks for the communication so far. I hope you stick around.

Hey @Natai I'm also missing you on the group doc. PM me if you'd like to be added. https://bit.ly/3cAfVjm

I'd like to get above 20 confirmed people before we start contacting dealers with a plan.

How the hell am I on trial here? I'm merely defending someone whose sole intention here is to help. He doesn't need to be here. Whether you see him as merely advertising or not, he's here to answer questions to the best of his ability. Wouldn't you rather nurture the possibilities of that relationship than burn it down immediately?

He's never insulted our intelligence. I, too, have a decade of marketing experience. And at corporate levels. I understand bullshit as much as the rest. But all of your inability to even give the benefit of the doubt shows that you're all a bunch of needy fanboys who would rather show hostility towards a helping hand and be seen as the expert over someone who actually works for Ford. They might not have all the answers, but they're more in-tune with communication than we are.

Ffs. You're all a bunch of sensitive snowflakes. And that's coming from a "liberal millennial." Grow up.
Without defending any other posters' specific comments, I will say that reading Gloff's posts felt at least a bit off putting to me at least. Coming on this board to interact with us is great and all but we're getting nothing but salesman speak which generally rubs me the wrong way (if he's provided anything substantive of value, please point me in the right direction, but I haven't seen it yet). He even just jumped in the Bay Area group to try to knock Granger as an option for those of us that may be interested and presumably try to steer people away. Personally, that makes me more likely to go with Granger, not less.

Couple that behavior with Serramonte's 100s of 1 star Yelp reviews from unhappy customers (admittedly, other bay area dealers except for maybe WC are generally in the same boat) and a healthy dose of skepticism is warranted here. I wish I could trust car dealers but unless they have a great track record or have been super transparent from day 1 like Granger, anyone would be a fool to take anything they say at face value.

I just said the same shit to you in the Bay Area group. But I'll say it again so no one else in this thread/forum gets it twisted like you did:
  1. He did not knock Granger's deal at all. By saying it's a "screaming deal" (it is) and saying that they're likely going to take a loss on some of the sales (they inevitably are by selling $2k under invoice for all models) isn't knocking it. They're facts.
  2. He didn't claim to be Superman. He clarified some misspeaks on previous posts about his dealership. He answered some questions and offered to answer more to the best of his ability/knowledge/permissions. Why is that so bad?
  3. He hasn't tried to sell anyone to move to his dealership. So where is the salesman speak?
  4. He hasn't offered much "new" information because we're all briefed on the same video the dealers saw. So it's not like he's purposefully being sneaky. He's been transparent, and frankly, tolerant as hell to everyone, even when ya'll are being dicks.
  5. This dude HAS been transparent since day 1. But his day 1 was this week. Granger simply has been around longer and this forum knows them well because of it. This place's skepticism has turned you all into assholes.
  6. Do you really expect this new guy to come and absorb 5+ years on information from this forum before posting? He doesn't know what we do/don't know. But he's offering his services to fill in blanks of things we don't know that he MIGHT be able to fill us in on. ffs.

A bear pooping in the woods is more communication than the radio silence a lot of dealers have. Hope someone from CA steps up with something decent.
