Ok against my better judgment I purchased the severe duty steering rack and procal to install in my bronco. Being a complete computer idiot I called ford before doing anything…a couple hours on the phone and the tune and rack upgrades were loaded in the procal and the tune was installed in the bronco…I then installed the 74weld stage 1 kit in the rack and waited til my buddy had some time and empty lift to install the rack (and diff drop)…got on the lift and did the procal rack download before starting the install (wanted to turn the bronco around on the lift so started the bronco but the steering would not turn so left it as is and shut it off)…did the rack (diff drop was kinda more a pita) install without any major problems…there are no codes (never were any and did not delete any) on the procal but there is a steering assist fault message on the dash and goat modes do not work (they have come back a few times but go away right away)…ford tech can’t do anything without any codes…thinks may be a defective rack…It drives fine but don’t want to drive it with the fault message or go off road without goat modes…local dealer is small with limited computer resources in my experience…any thoughts/help would be appreciated!! Thanks!!

Is your VIN supported by procal for the 3.0 steering rack? Only select models are and the rest have to be programmed through forscan.

@flip, do you think this would show up in that system you check sometimes?

I'm actually wondering if perhaps something got unplugged during the install. I had a couple fault messages after replacing a bumper and figured out I didn't push the plug all the way in.

I don't understand this. They should be able to follow a pinpoint test in the symptom chart and come to a conclusion on what's causing the issue 🤷‍♂️

You are gonna need a generic scan tool, or FDRS to pull codes from the PSCM module (control module mounted in the rack). I'm fairly certain procal will only check engine codes. My 1st rack was defective. It can happen. I posted about it in the old Hoss 3.0 rack thread started by @BigMeatsBronco but good luck finding it. If you get the same codes I got likely you got a bad one. I don't remember the exact codes offhand, but I can find them if you post what error codes you are getting. Should start with "C"...wana say I got C200C

Ductati1098 is the man! After having me sign into fordpass (never understood any need for it) he was able to pull a code
PSCM U2100 : 00 : 2F Initial Comfigutation Not Complete
seems like something in the reprogramming did not work??
don’t know how to fix it? But have a direction…

Fire up FDRS and do the initial Calibration under the PSCM, and that will fix it.

@Ford Motor Company, you missed your moment.
