It’s a 2021. I just saw a couple 2020s on Carvana with twice as many miles selling got $10k more than I owe on this one.

Some thoughts on dealing with your insurance company if they won't total it.

1) Make sure they put on a new hood.
2) Make sure they use factory glass.
3) There really isn't much you can do about the roof. It has to be fixed.

That looks just horrible. But remember to keep perspective. Its just a car. Your family is healthy, everyone is good. The big stuff is still the same.

Usually, if the dents are under the size of a quarter, they can do paintless dent repair. Bigger areas may depend where the damage is located and access behind the damage.
Correct. My wife’s grand cherokee had $10k + in hail damage and they didn’t total it out. Living in Denver “aka hail alley” it’s something we deal with every summer. To where Ive even thought about buying that huge inflatable bubble that the car sits inside to protect it lol. But I know my wife wont use it!

few years back at work, every vehicle was hit and it looked like this guy’s telluride where someone just took a baseball bat to it. Sucks for sure and hard to swallow when it happens. I get it.

Update: the third part damage review company the insurance co uses found it repairable for $9k. The report goes through every section of the exterior but says NOTHING about the interior or the electronics at all. It was rained in all night. The only interior comment is the interior is “tan.” Except its white seats and black carpet! Fucking morons.

Staying calm is the only way to get thru this incident. Letting your emotions rule won't help dealing with your insurer. Make a list of the issues with the car and cover each with the adjustor.

The inspector didn’t even call me before looking at the car, which is currently in my mother-in-law’s house six hours away, to ask me questions. I’ve never heard from them. Mom-in-law sent me a text after he left saying he looked at the car.

Adjuster said disputes/questions must be made to the third-party damage review company. When I call their number, it is just muzak with no menu at all, on hold indefinitely.
