SiriusXM Antenna Question

I believe I read in another thread that the antenna for Sirius is not the antenna on the front passenger side but instead located somewhere in the back of the car. Now I can’t find that thread - so my question - I added a Yakima Roof Platform to my 2dr and now the satellite radio signal is a bit sketchy. Am I blocking the antenna?

I think it's on top of the roll bar, so quite possible you are affecting it.

It's the little black thing on the roll bar in the rear. It works best when it has an unobstrued line of sight with the sky. The roof rack is probably partially blocking the signal.

As noted, you are probably inhibiting the signal. My Bronco works better than the Jeep I had - it would lose signal if I was on a tree lined road, particularly if the leaves were wet. Signal would just disappear until I hit a clearing. Same road in dry conditions, much less interference. So a roof rack and/or box, gotta be an issue...

Yes, that’s what I thought. The same thing happens with our Audi when we put our Thule roof box on.
