We ordered a Bronco Heritage and want to know if we should install the slide-out tailgate? Is it worth it or does it compromise the cargo space?

I have 2 Broncos. One with and one without and the one with it is so much better. It is super handy and in makes the floor flat
when you have the rear seats down which makes it so much easier to load and carry things. Does not make a noticeable difference in storage. Great help for doing work or if you need to stand on something or even a place to sit.

The ford slide out tailgate was one of the first things I added to my 4 door after. As mentioned above, it levels the floor which is actually very nice for hauling larger items. I use it all the time when the bronco is loaded for camping, skiing, etc. itās fantastic for getting toddlers ready, or as a spot to organize gear, or for tailgating.
I will say it is frustratingly expensive to buy as an accessory instead of a factory option, but if you watch carefully sometimes the ford discount codes arenāt capped at $1000, and you can get a full 20% off on them.

Really? I donāt think Iāve seen any not capped. If there was one not capped this would be on my list.

You are correct, you can still spend over 1000 but will only receive the 200 max. The code I used had a higher max discount when I bought it a year or so ago

Thanks everyone! We decided to order it with our build. Now, we need to find an after market cargo cover because Fordās cargo cover wonāt fit with the slide-out tailgate. Any recommendations?

the slide out tailgate does not need a cover, it has a hard cover with a rubber like coating that is non slip. Itās pretty darn good, nothing will slide on it and you can lift the cover off and sweep it off when it gets dirty.
100% worth it.
Wouldnāt have ordered it myself but the dealer had already installed it when I bought my HE. Having used it for a while now, I would never give it up.

If itās not too late, see if the dealer can add it to your build. Much cheaper than adding it later.
I ordered my Everglades with the dual tops so they wouldnāt include it on mine so I had to install it after delivery.
