Drove up to Temecula this morning to see the Cyber Orange in person, Gosch Ford had two CO Rangers in stock. I had not seen the color in person, as it turns out it was just as people have said, more yellow than orange.

The color is really striking up close-lots of pearl, but now that I've seen it I can cross it off my list-it's just too Yellow.

If you haven't seen the color it might be worth a road trip.

Yup, count me in the "glad it's more yellow than orange" camp.
Having grown up in Pittsburgh, black and yellow are more my kind of colors than a more orange color would have been.

Does it have some what of a Gold look/color to it?
I think it does. It is a golden yellow. Definitely a golden orange tinted medium yellow.

I bought a spray can of it, and 1970 Chrome Yellow for a side by side test at home. Will post up results. (Edit: since it is tri-coat, it comes in two cans: base and mid layer.)

The tri-coat paint gives it great definition and depth and helps it morph in varying light conditions.

I caught a Cyber Orange Outer Banks early on and in the right lighting it was full on gold. Next time I saw it on a two door Badlands it was a completely different color. Just depends on angle and lighting. If it were a tad more orange it might have had me.

I did not perceive any gold.

The pearl didn't sown up unless you were close, and the overall color was yellow.

There isn’t quite as much flake in the mid layer in this as I remember from the dealer, but guess what ... as it turns out Cyber Orange has a good amount of orange in it:

Looks yellow in person ;)

Unfortunately, the sample from the spray cans look very little like the paint on the vehicles. It would be interesting to see the samples posted here up against the actual vehicles.

I know what orange is, I was driving this:

I was attempting to park next to one of the CO Rangers to show the contrast, but the dealer had them in the main entrance lane.

It seems that much like Cactus Gray, the Cyber Orange is subject to much interpretation. My best advise is to go check it out for yourself. The Rangers are starting to show up at dealers, you can use the Ford.Com site to search and see when any are in your area. I'd call the dealer to confirm as the site is not very accurate.

It looks very close to the old chrome yellow. I'd like to copy the accent striping on the old Broncos, and hopefully figure out how to reliably convert the roof to white.
