Feb 21 reservation time stamp so I am completely surprised I got this email today and here’s why- I didn’t order a soft top. I specifically ordered a hard top for my climate (live in Northern MI).

I called the dealer and they told me they changed my order to a soft top so I would get scheduled.. Problem being that they never consulted with me before doing so. I didn’t have a problem with waiting for the hard top so I’m not exactly happy with my situation.

So I ask all of you- is there anything I can do? Or should I just shut the hell up and be happy I got a VIN?

Take possession. Order the correct one, hardtop, color, etc. Drive the ragtop until the hardtop arrives in a year or so. You probably won't see much of a depreciation in the first one when it comes time to trade/sell.

That is probably the least of your worries. If they did that to you I cant imagine how much over MSRP they are going to charge you to actually buy it.

Looks like Antimatter Blue? This is your only opportunity to get that color if that's more important than the roof...
Could always change the roof later, no so easy to change color.

I agree. While the dealership should've confirmed with you first, it might be good that they switched you to a soft top seeing as how Antimatter blue will be phasing out soon.

I also would take possession of it if they honor your agreed upon price. With a February reservation you were probably near the back of the line as it is. Putting in a new order for a hard top won't drop you too far behind where you were.
Vast majority of reservations occurred in the first month after launch in July.

It is the only way you'd probably see your Antimatter Blue...so maybe bite the bullet with this and purchase the hardtop later on.

My dealer has me sign the build sheet when I make changes, did you sign anything from the dealer? If not, they can charge you anything they want when you take delivery. If you're price locked with that late of a res, I'd take it!

definitely buy it, enjoy it, see how the roof holds up in winter. Since you're close to the factory, maybe you can even arrange a factory pickup if you ever want a hard top, avoid the expensive shipping charges. There also will be used ones and after market options.

If you see something you like better with what ever options MY22 might bring, order an other one and trade/sell this one down the road. You'll have months of fun in the mean time. I just test drove one today (Wildtrack) and it's an amazing and extreme fun vehicle!

Make sure to drive it with roof open or off in winter too, just because

It is antimatter blue which is playing a factor in rolling with it

Roll with it as long as your dealer doesn't screw you on price.
You'll be one of the few AMB Broncos on the road. I was hard core antimatter from day 1 until I saw it in person. Changed to Velocity the next day.

I would take it, but I would tell the dealer to give me a due bill for the MIC top at their expense or they would be hearing from your attorney. they have no right to change your special order vehicle to fit their time schedule or to make you refuse it so they can mark it up and make more money on it. Call the bluff and make them buy you a mic top when available.

Did they at least confirm that the order will be wired for a hard top?
