What are peoples thoughts on synthetic vs steel winch cables?
I would go Synthetic. I bought a winch for my CJ5 a few years back and they guy asked how often I would use it. I admitted I probably would not that often and wanted it more for emergencies. He indicated that if you buy a steel cable and just leave it in the spool exposed, it can start to show rust after a year or so. Synthetic has other advantages too for those that use them all the time but was surprised it was better for one that isn't used as much too (which lets be honest, is most of them). It's just a little pricey but worth it not to potentially show rust....

What are peoples thoughts on synthetic vs steel winch cables?
I initially added the winch until I saw it was steel. I want to go with synthetic for a few reasons already mentioned above. As of now, I am leaning towards the Warn VF Evo 10s, you can pick that up for around 750(w/o base plate) and it has a moveable control module, that can be mounted else where, if it is in the way of the camera. But I guess I'll see whats available in 10-12 months.

Stop forgetting the reason why the winch has to be mounted high!

That damn radar!

synthetic as it will be lighter. Adding a winch will most likely be 150 pounds and a synthetic rope will reduce the weight and any reduction can only help.

Can Ford not offer a hidden style winch? Gotta be some room behind that bumper.

One would think, but maybe that messes with the bash plate and approach angle.

yes. It is called an intercooler and in front of the intercooler is a shroud with louvers that direct air into the intercooler. The louvers can open or close to control the air flow. Raptors have them also. I will post a pic as I removed mine on my raptor.

if you don’t have adaptive cruise control then you have no sensor. Adding the lux package adds the sensor.

Btw you guys are not thinking this through. Putting a winch right in front the intercooler means you restrict air flow to the intercooler.

All Broncos with the Mid Package have the radar for the collision mitigation system.

And if it snaps it won't slice a limb off like cable!
