I relocated the solenoid box for my warn winch on my jeep under the hood.
My only concern is having room to put it somewhere, but in the end, this is the right answer, I think, for people getting the 360 cam.

there is no room behind the bumper as the inter-cooler sits there.

NOW if you relocate the IC elsewhere like behind the grill you can hide the winch. BUT after all of this you will spend more than 4K+

Raptor guys remove the OEM IC from behind the bumper and run a bigger IC behind the grill. Lots of work but beneficial to get better cooling when running a tune.

Can Ford not offer a hidden style winch? Gotta be some room behind that bumper.

either the turbo is huge on that Raptor, or that truck has turbo lag.

lol! the 3.5 is a twin turbo.

And most turbos have lag .. some more than others and some less than others.
yea totally. twin turbo makes more sense to have a big FMIC. I have a 1.8 turbo audi motor sitting in a 92 GTI, running 19lbs of boost. It spools at 2100rpms and pulls all the way to about 5500rpms with a slightly bigger turbo than stock and a FMIC half the size. anyway, back on topic ... WINCHES bruh! :D

Yeah not sure how much room the Bronco will have with the 2.7 crammed in there. But one could get creative I'm sure, which means me.
You can see it crammed bottom right corner of pic. I have the remote plug in my grill as well so no need to lift the hood to operate the winch. With a wireless controller thats irrelevant anyways.

I have the twin turbo (non-raptor) 3.5 and it hauls ass with heavy 35” MT tires. Raptor even more so. Not huge noticeabity of lag though compared to some other single turbos.

I think the entire thing is highly over priced. I have a Smittybuilt X20 winch with synthetic rope and remote for $550.00. There mounting plate and winch that Ford is offering is a rip. As far as install that is one wire to battery and another to ground. Not rocket science and certainly not worth the cost of the Ford option. Hell, I can probably buy an aftermarket bumper, winch and lights for less than the $2500.00 Ford is asking.

Well the point of this post was that the Warn which is actually pretty expensive, and their mounting solution would likely cost a couple hundred dollars. So, you’re getting a fair deal when you factor that in, as well as installation included in the price.

$299.99 harbor freight 12,000 lb badlands babay! Plus $100 in scrap steel and maybe $1-300 for a buzzbox welder and $50 for an angle grinder. Then you are done. And you have learned how to build things with POWER AND FIRE! When you get to the gate of valhalla Crom will ask you, what is the riddle of steel? Do you have the answer.......

I agree with att worth. When I did my wife’s Jeep bumper and winch, I could have mounted the control box under the grill. Still might. I just chose there cause it was a 4 hour job to do her grill, headlight covers, bumper and grill. I was tired of thinking.

What are peoples thoughts on synthetic vs steel winch cables?
Synthetic "rope" is best, you don't have the kinking or corrosion problem that can damage the steel and cause weak spots that can break. Synthetic doesn't snap back like a whip if it breaks like steel does so its much safer. That being said you have to take care of synthetic, don't let it get scuffed on rocks or trees, use the sleeve guard. I bought an extra chaff guard for the synthetic rope on our 68 Bronco.

I still have not seen anything conclusive about whether the winch will interfere with the camera too much or whether Ford has that worked out.
