So many conflicting takes on the 2.7

Went down to the dealer this morning to order. Badlands, 2.7. Anyway, I asked about the 2.7 since there are several threads here indicating that 2.7 is certain delay. He said it would be a problem for later orders, but "shouldn't impact me at all with how early my order was." So does anyone have any firm info on even the early orders having to wait for the 2.7? Apologies if covered, I did scroll and search.

Ford surely has a certain number of 2.7's to start with. But, I'm guessing they are seeing a potential shortage when Bronco orders start rolling in. If you're in early enough you could be one of the lucky ones to get a 2.7L before they run low. Good luck.

Yes, "might." What the dealer was saying though is that they don't have enough 2.7s lined up to meet the demand. However, if you were early enough to be in the first batch of 2.7s you shouldn't see a delay.

Exactly. Who the heck waits this long then gives in on things they want because they might wait a few more months? That makes no sense to me at all.

Bingo. Ford doesn't know a thing yet, much less some goof ball sales rep. Until they close the order book in March, they have zero idea of what might delay someone do to lack of engines.
