Soft top owners be aware

I was in for an oil change for my Mustang and saw this brand new Bronco with a temporary plate on it.

I couldn't help but ask why it was sitting there miserably, and the service advisor said a burglar sliced it open to get whatever was in the vehicle.

He also mentioned that it's estimated to be where it's at for at least 6 to 8 months for the replacement from Ford.

The poor owner waited months or even years for that car and now he has to wait additional months.... F

no reason for it sit in the shop that long duct tape works just fine until replacement parts come in.

Soft top owners…Do NOT lock your doors. This jeep owner has also warned his wife so she doesn't chance it.

i have a mint ford oem top that came off the first week with windows being stored on hangers. Does that mean the value has gone up?

I'm guessing the person that owns it is probably a newbie to owning soft tops.

Soon as it got warm, I took off the side and back windows. I also don’t keep anything in the vehicle.

There’s more to this story than we know, 6-8 months? I’d just order a Bestop and have it back on the road in days. Deal with insurance later.

What can you do? Other than the normal security common sense …. Not much. Uncommon concern anyway.

Doesn’t matter. They’ll still slash a window without even checking the doors.

I know soft tops are popular but that alone is more than enough to keep me from ever considering a soft top.

My dealer had broken a couple of clips that hold the rear window section in when I took delivery of my Bronco, I can't speak for any of the other panels, but the rear window took about 2 weeks to come in up here in Canada.
