Has anyone had an issue with their soft top rear window pulling away from the fabric like mine? I've searched and can't seem to find the same issue reported elsewhere. I took delivery three weeks ago, I've put 1,200 miles on it (actually only 1,100, it came with 100 miles on it from the dealership) and already have an appointment with the dealership for other reasons. Yes, it's been a ton of fun and I feel lucky to have it but this can't be normal wear and tear. I've only had the top all the way down twice so I know it's not from that. It just seems like the adhesive is failing and the plastic is separating from the fabric. Anyone seen this yet?

Ugh. Sorry. I am assuming you haven't folded it all the way down with the rear window in place. I wonder if anyone else did in the first 100 miles . . .

This is exactly what warranty is for. I wouldn’t sweat it.

100 miles from the dealer? Why?
Great question! I pressed the dealership for an answer and got zero information. They say that's how it came. I've heard of folks taking delivery with around 40 miles but nothing like 100. It was actually 108.

Well clearly. I suppose I meant that I haven't removed it more than twice. I imagine removing time and time again could cause wear and tear but its basically been stationary the whole time.

I'm not too worried about it at the moment. I'm hoping Ford does the right thing but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't concerned with the long term durability of the product. Also I'm a little concerned that the dealership might just want to "fix" the current panel instead of replacing it.

I wouldn't either, but then again, most dealer techs are gonna look at that, throw some Elmer's rubber cement on it and call it done. Then send Ford the bill for warranty work.

Or order a new panel which is what I would make them do

FYI the company that makes the top is American and it’s made here.

Haartz is a top supplier of convertible top and interior materials to the auto industry and just so happens to supply top materials to a company named Jeep who makes a vehicle you may have heard of called Wrangler.

Mine also had 100 miles on it when I took delivery. No explanation why either.

As a ford dealership technician i can say it’s not uncommon for there to be what some would consider excessive miles. Occasional ford will randomly select vehicles after being built for an extensive quality control test of things like the suspension. Also with all the delays and that flooding Detroit had a while back they probably got moved from storage lot to other lots.

No issues yet with mine and I have driven hours at 70-80mph with the top down and the wind hitting the back window. Hopefully that is not a common occurrence

Any evidence of a break in attempt? Other than that you’re doing the right thing. They should fix it under warranty
