Hello Bronco Fans!

I'd like to introduce you to Cascadia 4x4; we are the worlds leading manufacturer of vehicle specific hood solar systems and the best selling Flipster winch license plate mounting system. My name is Dave and I'm one of the owners here at Cascadia 4x4. Please don't hesitate to reach out by PM or email ([email protected]) with any questions you might have!

We are happy to finally be a part of the Bronco community and offer a product for the 6G Bronco platform! The Bronco system is the first of the brand new Vehicle Specific Solar System 2.0 lineup that we're launching this year. Its currently available for pre-order until the end of January. These will be shipping out to customers in February. By placing a pre-order now you'll save 15% with the coupon code "pre15".

For those of you who might be unfamiliar with Cascadia 4x4, we revolutionized the Overland vehicle market in 2019 by launching the worlds first Vehicle Specific Solar Systems (VSS System ™ ). These solar systems are designed to integrate seamlessly the vehicle with an OEM adjacent design (don't just take our word for it, we are one of only a few companies that are a Mopar Approved Affiliated Accessory). Over the past 5 years of selling the original VSS systems we've taken feedback from customers and dealers to create the VSS System™ 2.0 and the Ford Bronco 6G system is the first to hit the market!

The Cascadia 4x4 VSS System™ 2.0 is the latest iteration of the world's first vehicle specific hood solar panel system, and it's packed with new technology. The solar panel attaches directly to the vehicle hood using Cascadia 4x4's SolarClasp™ Technology, enabling it to be removable, and creating an insulative air-pocket for cooling.

Cascadia 4x4's vehicle hood solar panel provides high-efficiency, clean energy generation on otherwise empty space. It uses the power of the sun to keep the vehicle battery fully charged.

The system is capable of powering solar generators, fridges, handheld devices, emergency devices, lights, tools, and overlanding accessories without any maintenance or setup beyond initial installation. System monitoring and programming is available via the CascadiaTether™ Bluetooth app.

Sounds like a nice system. However I need at least 100W to keep my battery charged for my refrigerator.

No Sir! The VSS System ™ 2.0 uses our patent pending SolarClasp™ Technology which uses military grade reclosable fasteners to install the solar panel on the hood.

Here at our factory we install one side of the fastners on the back of the solar panels prior to them shipping out. For the install, the customer will install (stick on) the other side of the fastners on the hood of the vehicle using the included vinyl TPU template. Then the solar panels simply click down into place! We'll have an install video to help make this more clear in the coming weeks. For now you can read more about SolarClasp ™ here: SolarClasp™ Technology | Removable Solar Module | Cascadia 4x4

This actually looks sharp.

I mean, not a ton of surface area on that hood to get much power (60W), but this looks like a nice, well thought out kit.

It won't run your 100W fridge continuously, but then again, no solar panel is gonna do that, since it does tend to get dark at night anyway. It helps keep your battery (both/either starting battery or portable generator batteries, or secondary battery bank) topped off and doesn't take up otherwise useable space (racks on roof) or require you to lug it out and set it up when you stop -- and could be used in conjunction with all those things if you wanted to.

I like it. Would be a nice secondary DC input on a portable battery generator kit for overlanders.

My only snag would be it's a very pricey 60W, $10/W - but it looks sharp and well integrated with the Bronco, so there is that to consider.

This is a common misconception! 100 watts is great, but certainty not necessary to maintain a fridge. Let me explain....

Firstly, our 60 watt systems installed in series provides a high charging voltage and is more than sufficient to keep a fridge going the majority of the time (providing there is sunlight!).

Not only that, but the way the system has been designed to charge 12v accessories like a fridge is through our plug-and-play 12V accessory charging kit (12V Accessory Kit | Cascadia 4x4 | VSS System 2.0).

The way the system works is:
- Solar Panels + Alternator keep the vehicle battery charged up (this is where the power is stored)
- The 12v accessory outlet draws power from the vehicle battery to power the fridge, solar generator, laptop etc.
- The 12v accessory outlet will always provide power unless the charge controller senses that the vehicle battery is getting to low (the user can set this low voltage cut off via the CascadiaTether ™ App). If the low voltage cutoff is triggered then the system will wait until the solar panels have charged the battery sufficiently to continue providing power to the 12v outlet.

Hopefully that helps explain how this system works!

Thanks for the kind words Brian! Yes, the space on that section of the hood is somewhat limited but like I mentioned in my response above, the dual panels connected in series charges at a very high voltage ( 63.28 V ) which enables them to really provide very efficient charging out of the 60 watts.

We are open to producing a larger system that also fills up the front portion of the hood if the demand is there. You could fit a lot of watts in that area!

We do offer a way to charge your fridge, battery pack etc directly through our system with this plug and play add on: 12V Accessory Kit | Cascadia 4x4 | VSS System 2.0

Yes, our systems are pricey (they cost us a small fortune in R&D!), but they are unlike anything else on the market and truly are a premium product backed by a company who really cares about its products and customers! We left no stone unturned in the development of these systems.

Thank you sir! You were early to the party and you'll be one of the very first to receive the system. I look forward to hearing your feedback. Shipping will begin sometime next month. :like:

Can I charge a lithium battery with the hardware this comes with? Or only the 12v vehicle battery?

that would be nice to hook directly to my redarc BCDC1240D that charges up my 50 amp hour lithium in my back rack, as it has a built in MPPT controller too. and that redarc will prioritize solar over alternator.

Our panels will also work with other MPPT controllers. Just make sure that your redarc can handle the voltage of our panels as they put out a high voltage than most controllers can handle!

Here are the electrical specs:
