I really want to give something like that a try. How long are the tubes? I would want them to fit in the back without moving the seat down and leave room for supplies/cooler. I have a 2dr and space is a premium sometimes.

I haven't measured the tubes but it'll easily fit width wise in the rear storage compartment. I posted a picture of the tubes in it's storage bag here. I typically store them under my rear seat and have plenty of space in either side.

Not sure if an extension is needed (Adventure Hammock Systems sell extensions besides the actual hammock stand). Since this video was made, they also offer a tire mount so the hammock stand can be deployed from the side of the vehicle.

I'm using a hitch extender and although I think it could work without one, you'd gain more clearance with one installed. Good luck!
