If “extra” sound deadening material is not going to be a stand alone feature, I’ll probably try to install it myself.

(I priced out a Badlands with this feature, & I’m not paying +$50K-way out of budget. OB doesn’t allow a manual- also out of budget when adding 2.7 & DIOs)

Considering that BB has carpet & BD has the wash out floors, I have questions:

Which model would be easier to install sound deadening?

Can the vinyl even be pulled up like the carpet?

Which has the best sound deadening properties, the carpet or thick vinyl?

Thanks

We don't have the details on the vinyl floor of the BD but I'd suspect that it will be similar to what the FJ Cruiser has. It is a thick heavy vinyl that is molded to fit the floor. The FJ had a bit of cushion adhered to the back of the vinyl which may not be present on the Bronco. It was a fiber based backing.

It most certainly will be removable. The question is how tightly does it fit to the floor. Does it just lift up like carpet or is it pinned in place in strategic locations? The tighter the fit, the harder it will be to add sound deadening underneath.

I'm thinking of doing something similar...adding sound deadening after the fact.
