Nice - we lived in Bayou Vista and Pierre Part for a while when I was a kid and never saw anything like that.

12 inches in Louisiana? Dang, Tallahassee was cheated with only about 2 or so inches. But what a blast for this Yankee transplant of about 30 years. Grew up in Michigan and served in North Dakota and Alaska. The longest time I had my 23 Big Bend in 4 wheel drive. Likely didn't need it but it was still a blast. My other Ford, a 1942 Ford GPW (jeep) was a blast as well.

Thanks for starting this thread.

We had ice here in Atlanta with just under an inch where I am; the snow was further South of the city, which was weird.

I went out in it in the Bronco trying to get to a bar. Bronco handled the ice like it were nothing, including uphill. Breaking for stop signs downhill were a little interesting, but not too bad.

I ended up helping 7 people get unstuck using a 30 lb bag of cheap kitty litter that I carry when it snows or there's ice. Kept also telling people to turn off traction control; funny how so many still don't know to do that.

Anyway, the bar was shutting down for the day. cars were stranded everywhere and city buses. Scene was crazy like 11 years ago, but no issues for me.

Bronco don't stop! :sunglasses:

So crazy y'all had that much over there! We have friends around Tickfaw and N.O. and they all had 11-12" + when it was said and done. This year we escaped here with maybe an inch then headed yawls way to create fun havoc!

This was our Snowmagedon in the Texas Hill Country back in 21. This pic was after a day of melt, we had 10" at the house. Seems here in the Hill Country with our elevation we bank on the end of Januaryish to first of Februaryish to have ice or ice/snow every year.

I'm a Yankee who lived in Charlotte for three years. One year we had an inch of show. The number of accidents - and cars 50 yards off the road stuck in a field - was unbelievable. I learned if it snows in the south, stay home. They don't know how to drive in the snow and too much of a chance to be hit.

Here in NOVA we got about 10 inches total, about 6 at the first snowfall. I had no problems losing traction whatsoever, and without t/c on it’ll slide pretty well too 🤣

OP’s name ends with momma. Have to assume a female. Poor girl is only relying measurements based on what she’s been told her whole life.

Looks closer to 1-2” to me. 😜😂🤣

Just kidding @brneyemomma. Thanks for sharing, the pics are gorgeous. Love the snow!
