I hope ford has some nice bronco spare tire covers for the back depending on how they look I might pick one up if it’s one of the 300 accessories just to protect the rear wheel and tire one with the bronco horse on it would be sweet

This may be a dumb question, but how important/useful are spare tire covers?

I had a Jeep Wrangler years back and never put a cover on the spare. I don’t recall there being any issues from leaving it uncovered, but it was 15 years ago so my memory may be a little hazy...

They just work as billboard to broadcast your way of life message. Weather is not an issue at all. I do a 5 tire rotation so all tires get equal treatment during their life.

The spare on the back may get a bit more UV than the tires on the ground but it isnt drastic. If you are rotating tires properly (including the spare) there is no need for a cover. It would also block the rear view camera on the Bronco. The only way it could really work would be to only cover the rubber and leave the entire center uncovered so the camera would work and not have severe tunnel vision.

I use a no shine tire/rubber treatment meant for aircraft (meets Boeing Aircraft specs) that has UV protection. First on my motor home then on all my other toys. 3 years in and the tires on the motor home look just like new. Never cared for the shiny tire look. No tire covers for me.

I rotate the spare from my wrangler into the rotation every oil change... I’m over 50,000 miles on the stock rubicon tires and they still look like tractor tires.

Rotate it in and you don’t have to worry about sun damage and you know your spare works and is aired up.

My FJ has a hard shell cover over the spare with a small opening for the camera.

Not sure why a tire needs protection? It’s a tire.

Bommerang made this one, and it has the camera thingy built into the fabric. It's a very well made cover. This one was made for a standard 32" tire, and they have other sizes also. I'm sure if they can get permission they'll have one with the bucking horse on it soon.

Personally I like the aftermarket lights that people add to their jeeps that make the entire spare light up like a 3rd brake light. I don't actually like the look of it, I just like not getting rear ended from a distracted driver and this might help. So I'd probably do this over the spare tire cover.

I do have nostalgia for the older Bronco covers, though:
