I'm going to admit that I am a speed/hp junkie and will spend my $$ on most anything that will give me more of both. As pathetic as the TTV6 sounds I really didn't care all that much and would have never considered spending $ on an exhaust. So being me I read a lot and knew that the downpipes don't add that much in terms of tq/hp, but he roughly 10+ throughout the usable range worked for me. On the pipes went, and WOW.. the sound, I cant describe it but more like an angry monster was woken up. Its louder than I had anticipated but damn it sounds SO much better. Butt dyno, meh, couldn't tell a difference but hey if I line up against another Raptor with a Procal tune, Ill edge them out by hundredths of a second :cwl: - but sound a whole hell of a lot better

Nice review. Great you admit they do much more for sound than power. What brand did you go with? (edit - I see - SPD).

It's really hard to get a turbo motor to sound good, so great news on that. How is the sound in normal exhaust mode, at gentle throttle and low rpm cruising? Highly or barely noticable?

And just to clarify, you installed on a Raptor, yes?

Yes ‘23 Raptor. In regular mode and once you are at cruising speed it’s barely noticeable at all, sounds stock, accelerating its louder than stock, but to me it sounds fantastic. I should have done a before and after sound test but honestly didn’t expect it to be that much different

THIS THREAD IS WORTHLESS WITHOUT A SOUNDCLIP !
Yeah I’ll see about getting one, but not sure how best to show the difference between stock and how it sounds now. I’ll try a few ways

No need to show the difference- we all have broncos and (most) know how it sounded coming off the lot - just posting a clip with the down pipes will suffice

Along with a cheap, barely stereo microphone, audio compression and then played back through cheap crappy mobile phone speakers... Yeah, should be fine.

Do any dyno results on this exist? Sounds really good, but I don't mind the stock V6 3.0T, especially with the exhaust dampers set to the "baja" or "sport" mode personally.

$1700 for exhaust sound may be a bit steep to me :).

Well then I guess a Borla catback is out of the question.
Actually, I read through the write up on one of those and my conclusion was exactly that (other things I'd rather spend money on first).

If you do a search for SPD Downpipes there is actually a dyno (and sound clip), it gains about ~10 hp & tq throughout the usable range. Its not a lot and certainly not worth $1700 for most people but like I mentioned Ill take all I can get and with the much better sound to me was worth it

I paid 6k for Soul high flow cats for my 911, so this sounds like a great deal.

Newbie question - you did this instead of an exhaust? So you are using stock exhaust and just replaced the downpipes?
