I've searched around a little, but I'm still insecure enough to ask here. LOL! I'm sure you guys get tired of answering the same questions over and over. I have two sets of Diode Dynamics SS3 lights -- yellow for front and white for rear. My Bronco has the factory auxiliary switches. When I ordered these lights, I also purchased two harnesses. Now I'm thinking that I probably didn't need them, and if I don't, I need to return them before my time to do so expires. Do I need the Diode Dynamics wiring harnesses if I have factory switches?

My uneducated guess is that since the factory auxiliary switches contain fuses and relays, all I need is the Deutsch-style pigtails that were packaged with the lights and simply connect the light's red wire to the correct switch wire and ground the black wire. Correct?

Thanks!

No sense in using these harnesses if they will just be redundant with what my Bronco is already equipped with.

You'll need some type of wiring harness... we offer harnesses for Diode Dynamics lights. Since you have upfitter switches you don't need relays and all that, it's part of that upfitter system. So a harness like this would work (you'll want to extend it for the rear since it's not long enough to reach the rear but is long enough for fogs/pillars)

So I do need the harnesses that I linked to in my original post? I already have them, just trying to figure out if I need to keep them.

Why do I even need harnesses? The lights came with plugs that have short pigtails.

Can I not simply connect one wire to a switched hot and the other to ground? My Base does not have factory fog lights.

No you don't need the harness you linked. You can use those pigtails and extend them if you want. You'll just need to do that... extend it. If you have wire and all that go for it. Otherwise we already have a nice pre-made harness available for ya if you don't want to make your own
