Some on here have brought up on other threads that the price was out of line with what you were getting. The kit includes this so called blue tool which is not needed we have a deep socket that would work or a piece of pvc. It's too bad this conversation about price specifically didn't start way back when they first came to market. Maybe by now they would adjusted the price to more reality expected and then when RC or others come out, the price delta wouldn't be so huge that we might ignore the alternatives.
I agree the video is not appropriate/effective. Use emotions, pressure on us to convince they are right is just wrong.
Oh well, I ordered my RC version today. This was one of the last pieces of my puzzle of Bronco build and was holding off mainly do to price. Well time answered my hesitation.
Hopefully this place lmaoWell that’s a fun twist
Some people pay a lot for that...Until they replace your hoo ha with a cheaper Chinese ai version
seriously. basically his argument now is capitalism will be the end of our country which I assume he didn't intend.Well that’s a fun twist
I don't have an extra $100 to donate, how about I send some month-old bud light I have laying around. So just like taxes… you can give more
buy the rc ones or jks… send BB hundred bucks and you still can feel good about ‘merica
Plenty of people complained about the price, they were drowned out by the don't be poor/you don't understand how a business works crowd. We knew it was just a matter of time before an alternative came out so there was really no sense in continuing that conversation. It's too bad this conversation about price specifically didn't start way back when they first came to market. It was certainly priced for the value of piece of mind and not cost/materials. A blown rack on a trail could cost a lot of money to get rescued. His value proposition made sense when he had a captive market. His mistake was thinking this short-term gouging would be his bread and butter for years and years. Some on here have brought up on other threads that the price was out of line with what you were getting. You are correct on all points, Ford came out with the hoss 3.0 and the Raptor rack. The Raptor rack is still a mystery as to what's in side.It was certainly priced for the value of piece of mind and not cost/materials. His marketing approach was to keep the public in a constant state of panic. I felt his biggest threat was if Ford made a mid-lifecycle improvement to the rack on all new Broncos, and adding improved components to existing Broncos via a TSB. What would he have done then?
They are thought of like a Harbor Freight of the offroad industry. Harbor Freight makes some good products like tool carts and some tools, but an equal amount of chinesium junk is on their shelves. Rough Country has a few gems and some less than awesome parts in their catalogue. A higher end brand like Icon doesn’t have the junk in their offerings, but also a significantly higher price point.I don't mean to hijack this thread, but can I ask what is the deal w/"rough country hate"? Did I miss something? I have used their products in the past and have had success...although I can admit that the quality of alot of it measures w/the price point, we don't all live in the "golden west" and a large segment of midwestern people aren't billionaires (outside of Chicago anyway). Are they secretly owned by a foreign oligarch or something? Are they a "fundamentally evil" company like Apple, Tesla, Disney etc? what gives? Serious question
Yes that's true, depends on what you were expectingWell that was a fun 10 page read
