Just out of curiosity, why wouldn’t Ford run the Wildtrak in this race? Isn’t that the model they say is built for speed in the desert?

Because they wanted to run the best Bronco instead.

Groves and fellow Bronco engineer Seth Goslawski drove the majority of the 1,100-mile race, while Brad Lovell, three-time NORRA winner and member of the Bronco advisory panel that helped develop the new Bronco, navigated and drove one stage on day one. The rally tracked across the Baja, Calif., peninsula over dirt, silt, dry lake beds and salt flats, with miles of ruts and rocks in between.

So a last gen Ranger bookend'd a stock new gen Bronco? Well hell, maybe I should just spend my $50k on my 2002 then.

So this was Levine's Part 2 tweet. For those that don't have Twitter here is his quote, "A bone stock $50K Bronco Badlands with a safety cage finished 3rd behind the 2nd place @glichenhaus Boot that costs $288K. After 5 days, the Boot was 14:53 minutes faster or the equivalent of paying ~$16K/minute. A Ford Ranger took first place"

Awesome I see it as just a warm up. Now to review all the data they have collected from this. I’m looking forward to seeing all the changes and upgrades that come from this run. For a most stock vehicle and to even finish without a complete breakdown is amazing. Really tells us a lot about what Ford is building for us. This 6 Gen Bronco has an exciting future.

Also, notice they didn't choose a Wildtrak for a baja race? 🤔
Do people still not understand that Wildtrak is just squatch+2.7 with an appearance package?
