There are no u-joints either, but it does sound like one going bad.Jeez...it better not be a transmission issue.
I was almost thinking u-joints but it would be all the time.
Good reference info posted by @Rocketeer Rick …differential clutch.... outside of tolerance....
But, I don't know anything about the Ford e-locker. What you are describing is typical of a limited slip differential clunk. the e locker is likely magnetic and might not even have a clutch. Assuming it did, it clunks when it engages/disengages when out of spec. i.e. shims...
Make them road test it with you.I wouldn't even know how-to begin to describe it to a service advisor. Lol
Hi there! Will you send us a message with your VIN and your local Ford dealer? I can look into things on my end.Happening to mine too. It’s so annoying. I’m glad I’m not the only one. Sometimes it’s so noticeable that I look behind me to make sure no one tapped my rear bumper. Going to a second dealer on Wednesday to check it out. First dealer said NPF and blamed it on a lift. It was doing it before the lift so I know for a fact it’s not caused by that.
