Does anyone have experience with Optima's Yellow Top battery? I have been contemplating options for more robust power while camping in remote locations. With lighting mods and use of 12V accessories (air pump for mattress, small coffee/cooking kettle, etc.), and sometimes in extreme weather conditions, this would provide more confidence than the OE battery. I saw this as an "editor's pick" for mods in an off road magazine. I'm not a huge power user so I don't need a dual battery set up, and not sure I really want a portable battery to fiddle with and take up more room. This seems like a simpler option, any thoughts?

Optima isn't the same as it used to be. Most if not all of their inventory is produced in Mexico now and their quality has suffered. The last i looked into it was about 2 years ago so it may have changed, but lightweight lithium alternatives are the way to go now. I'm coming from the tuner world but the high watt demands are the same as a Bronco w/ accessories.

Consider adding a second battery. Hard part would be finding a good spot for it.

Thought the Bronco came with an AGM battery already. Are you running into issues?

Instead what you may want to spend your money on is a Power station (to run all your camping junk) and a small jumper pack as safety net in case your Bronco Battery does drain down a bit to far. They can be had for $50 on Amazon.

I think the stock AGM battery is fine. I do want to figure out a solution for a second battery wired with an automatic charge relay to run my ARB fridge. I’m thinking a larger powersports battery mounted somewhere, perhaps mounted on one of the underhood compressor mounting brackets.
