Has anyone had an issue with not being able to shift into 2H or any other gear? 4L light is blinking, but unable to actual shift. It’s driving like it’s in 4L and can’t get out of it. This all started cycling through goat modes. I’ve had this truck 3 days - not off to a good start. Will be taking back to the dealer tomorrow…

If its in 4L, have you tried putting the gear selector in Neutral before trying to switch back? Sometimes vehicles need to roll slightly before disengaging 4L.

Turn the truck off, leave it off for about minute. Turn it back on, set goat mode to normal. Then shift to 2H.

Good advice above. But if it's actually stuck in 4 low still tomorrow, get it towed. Don't try to drive it to the dealer.

Sounds like you need to put the vehicle in neutral. Have you ever owned a vehicle with a transfer case before? (honest question).

I'd suggest reading the owners manual (yep that's a thing) on your 4wd system.

Thanks. Tried all the above and yes my current/prior vehicle has a transfer case.

Somehow I knew this would creep up, electronic shift t-case motors always fail. Jeep/ Trd pro = manual lever. It will work until we are pushing up daisies. Sorry about your inconvenience, should be a quick repair.

My raptor did this once. After many trys and delayed shifts will pulling forward and reversing a loud clunk came from the TC and all was good. Never had any issues years later

Yeah the bronco Will tell you what it needs. So if you're not in neutral and you try to switch out of 4L it will tell you to put it in neutral.

So unless the OP isn't reading the screen, all the comments about having ever owned one before are moot.

Ford's entire stance, as even stated by them, has been to help people that are not used to exploring, being able to explore (which is what the GOAT is all about).

As other helpful post have said. You may have to disconnect the battery for a few because that seems to be clearing a lot of the electronic gremlins in the Bronco for many.

But yes, definitely do not drive it to the dealer in 4L. You don't want to be in four-wheel drive in any high traction situations like a paved road

Correct, when the initial issue happened it provided prompts to follow, but wouldn’t work. It is being towed to the dealer this morning based on dealers recommendation. Will let everyone what the outcome is.

Just a quick update. They cleared the fault codes (4x4 fault?) and were able to get it back into 2H. Seems to be working fine. I will pick it up this afternoon. Something for others to keep an eye on if a similar issue occurs.

Take a tour around the Jeep forums and see how often they see failures of the transfer case lever, linkage, cable, plastic bushing, and retaining clips. It's more than never. Now usually you can crawl under the thing and shift the TC with a pair of vice grips, so you won't be stranded, but still...
