Yes that headline was way too misleading, definitely written by a Bronco hater  Not even a mention or comparison of the Bronco like the title would suggest. Besides, I can do so much more with the $15K+ that I'll be saving from not getting that tank

You underestimated that savings a bit.

The + was supoose to cover that haha. In my situation with a 4 door Sas Badlands the difference from that to the starting point for the 392 is about 13K-14K

Longtime Jeep fan here, but Wranglers and Gladiators are played out. I can't even lift my arm to wave at these guys in their shiny plastic mall crawlers any more.

Own a Jeep, I like my Jeep, I don't want this overpriced V8 monstrosity. The price is absurd. I can get Hellcat redeye for less if I want that motor.

It's a knee jerk reaction on the part of FCA to keep some attention on their brand and hopefully prevent customer loss to the new broncos. It's nothing special really, people have been shoehorning V8s into jeeps for years. Underneath it's still the same old platform. Which is great and all but not work the money in my opinion.

I’ve got a 2021 Rubicon and love it, but there is ZERO chance I would even consider buying a 392. It’s more expensive than a RAM TRX or even a VERY WELL LOADED Raptor. That price is absolutely insane. I think Jeep looks at the aftermarket pricing for adding a Hemi to a Wrangler (usually around $30K) and simply tacked that onto the price of a Rubicon.

Then there is the 13mpg with that tiny fuel tank. I doubt. you’ll get 13mpg when hitting the trails so who knows how limited the range will be. Better get a few Rotopax tanks for the trip.

I have been wondering why the high price. I guess people will pay it though.

c’mon motortrend, you’re better than that? I think a V8 is a welcome addition to any vehicle line-up, kudos to Jeep for doing it. That said, the random shot at Bronco without an actual comparison is just lazy fanboy journalism. The V8 does very little to improve the capability of the Jeep as an off-roader (I could argue it lessens it).

Other than straight line speed and ‘smiles-per-gallon’, it does very little to fight back against the bronco’s IFS drivability advantage. At $75k+, the warthog will wipe the floor with that thing- on and off road, V8 or not. (aaaand there’s MY lazy fanboy contribution)
