Sulfur smell upon acceleration ?

Has anyone had issues with a smell entering the cabin when accelerating ? I have a 2.7 Wiltrak with the Ford performance tune and a catch can. I also installed the arb rear diff cover but doubt that is contributing to the issue. My fear is that it is the cat not being able to handle the increase in fuel from the tune…. Any thoughts ? It seems to be getting worse.

If your laying into it and getting the smell, it’s just burn off. Cats should hold that tune just fine. It’s not a aggressive tune. It will go away.

2.3/auto and I get a pretty strong sulfur smell at WOT but I’ve just chalked it up to the cats loading up because I almost never floor it.

I can’t usually catch a whiff if the windows aren’t open but if I have any windows cracked it’s pretty strong

I get the same smell. I didn't notice it until I put on a new exhaust system. Its only when I get on it. Not bad unless windows are down or top off. Keep hearing its burn off but im at 7400 miles think it would be burned off by then.

Did you take it to the dealer ?

100% normal on a modern car with mediocre gas. Just some Sulphur dioxide side effect of cats and some impurities in the gas.
Change to a Top Tier Gasoline or gas stations and see if it goes away.

Thanks for the insight. I’ve been using 93 the entire time I’ve owned the Bronco. Ive owned many cars and never had rotten eggs fill the cabin… Is there any benefit to getting a performance catalytic converter ?

The factory cats are fine, no need to change them out on a FP tune. I'm assuming you are going near or full throttle and then smelling sulfur? That is completely normal when the pcm richens the fuel mixture.

I am not accelerating at full throttle. The smell occurs early in the rpm curve.
