Absolutely epic trip and I'm loving your 2D overlander setup (just got my 2D a week ago!)

Did you do a full seat delete, or just remove the bottom back cushions on your 2D so it would lay flat(er)?

The blue 2D you see in one of the photos is actually @ModifyMike. As for the photo you quoted, I just laid the back seats down and used the leveling pads and air mattress from @deepsleep Overland to make the bed setup! It’s super easy and very comfortable

Yeah, just do a search. There's multiple DIY posts I believe. There's always youtube vids on how to remove the seats as well.

Love the pics, and love your build! Where did you get the mounting system for the gas/water cans? Thats a perfct setup! I've been looking for something for gas cans, since I live in an incredilbly rural area (no gas station for 300 kms each way once I leave my town), but I don't wanna block my swing gate/window/spare tire with it!

It’s from Trailrax! They sell it with the roof rack, and I absolutely love it. I’ve had it on since March and have no complaints so far. Here’s a link to their site, they make full and half versions

I was thinking about a pretty much identical trip later this year.
I'd be coming from central Florida, but would probably take the same exact route you did.
The extended family is planning a trip to Big Sky for Thanksgiving, and I was thinking about leaving a week early doing a solo drive and hitting up all of the same spots you did.
How long was your Atlanta to Devils Tower and back leg of the trip?
I was giving myself 7 days to do it one way, with 2-3 of those days just getting to Badlands...
