That's kind of where I was hoping to be able stash it. I was hoping to use 2) magnet mounts for the handset so I could store it under the dash out of the way when I'm not using it and then on the dash somewhere when I'm done. We'll see how it works.Hard to see much in the pic, but I attached my 575 to the module bracket behind the light switch. Lots of room in that location. Still determining where to put the handset....
I can't quite tell where this is but it looks like a great location. Where exactly behind the dash is it?Hard to see much in the pic, but I attached my 575 to the module bracket behind the light switch. Lots of room in that location. Still determining where to put the handset....
I agree, I started to look into these stubby or bullet shaped antennas and found out they really reduce your range/reception for both GMRS and yes AM/FM. TBH, not sure why people like them so much. A good antenna shows you are ready for the trail, unless you like to be incognito.I initially was planning on going with the ghost antenna. However, I work with a bunch of guys that are veeery into radios (all types) and when I told them I was going to use that antenna they unanimously agreed it was "garbage". They all scoffed at it and rolled their eyes. Now, I am not typically one to fold to peer pressure, but when I'm less than a novice at something and a bunch of people that are consumed with that thing tell me it's not good... eh... what's the point in rolling the dice in that scenario? lol
One of the most useful, cool and inexpensive things you can do to your Bronco, AND it's fun to install! Enjoy! You guys are killing me! Now I’m putting together a shopping list. LMAO. There are lots of great installs in this thread. Thanks for the inspiration!
What mount are you using for your mic?Took advantage of this forum and cleaned up the GMRS install with a RJ45 bulkhead and 3 foot Cat5 cable. Placed the bulkhead on the underside of the hvac cluster.
