I bought my Big Bend without the LED's. I didn't realize the non-LED's didn't have the signature Bronco look, which I really like. So I bought some OEM LED's on eBay. I shopped around to find someone to install them, but it seemed ridiculously expensive. So, in spite of the fact that I've never worked on a car in my life, I found a YouTube video on how to remove Bronco headlamps. Today, against all odds, in about two hours, I swapped them out. The LED's look great and it's amazing how easy it was.

Thanks. And you're right about youtube. If I hadn't seen the video, I wouldn't have even considered trying.

@Steve62
So you got signature lights to plug into/in place of your non signature lights without much fuss?
Do they work/function ok?

Yes. The signature and non-signature lights are apparently interchangeable. I simply did what the video showed and plugged them in. They're working perfectly.

I wish the tail lights swapped out as well, apparently they don’t.

Nice! Now….how do we get those sweet LED taillights that come with the higher trim levels?

I remember you saying what a pain in the a$$ this is on the ranger.
Seems like it’s a simple swap on the bronco.

Just when I thought I was finished. Now you guys have will have me looking at every other Bronco's tail lights. And realistically, I may not be done until I add rock rails, and maybe Sasquatch rims and 35" tires and the requisite fender flares and lifts.

On Ranger they weren't plug and play. They had different Canon plugs.

There's a lot of voltage regulation with LED's that incandescent bulbs don't need. Especially as LED's slowly ramp up voltage without controlling it.

Pretty cool for Bronco how much easier it is. I'm genuinely surprised! Maybe they just figure if you're dropping $3-4K on lamps then go nuts!

It seems that for Bronco they put all the brains in the headlight and housing itself.

There will still be significant issues with the rear lamps for Bronco due to BLISS and the trailer tow sensors.

Thanks for tagging me on this one, I've been slipping pretty hard on trying to keep all the Bronco details straight as the wait stretches here into the second year.

YouTube. Empowering laymen; single-handedly decimating the service industry.

That being said…I spent $500 on tools and parts replacing the A/C compressor pulley on my minivan this summer after a mechanic quoted me $2300. Whole repair guided by YouTube.

I spent $26 on tools and saved $300 to $500 and hours of time dropping off and picking up. And it was fun.

Cool. Glad to hear they are interchangeable. I may swap my sigs for the standards. Time will tell.
If you're interested, I'll sell you my standards. I have the boxes my signatures came in and could send them tomorrow.
