This is the answer I was looking for. Hope you are correct.

I'm not the expert but I think the core of the answer is simple. built in means the Bronco has the GPS equipment. only connected means it needs to Borrow GPS hardware (aka your phone).

My GPS Nav packaged cost $400 in my Mazda which was basically that GPS receiver. so $700 from Ford sounds about right?
