Tamiya releasing a 1/10 RC 2 Door Bronco

Tamiya is taking reservations now. You'll be able to place an order sometime later this year.
Months will go by and you won't hear anything, but random trinkets will show up in the mail from time to time. The delays will be attributed to everything from a "chip shortage" to problems with the top of the bodies, some desirable options will be "constrained", and will cause additional delays to your order, they will recommend you change you order to something completely different than what you want in order to get it sooner. They won't take any responsibility for any of the delays, they will all be blamed on Covid.
Some customers will actually get their orders built and delivered to local hobby shops, who will add an ADM of a 100% or so. If you don't pay it, they will sell your Bronco that you ordered to someone else.
Most customers will still be waiting a year for their orders over a year later, while hobby shops will have plenty of kits on hand but won't sell any to you. If someone happens to walk in off the street and orders one, they will get it built and delivered within a few weeks, while the original orders still aren't filled. Quite a few customers will get tired of the waiting and the bullshit and buy a Traxxas instead.

Sweet! I still need to finish mini matching Blue:I guess I am going to need this to to go along with my other matched pair. Glad they came out with a 2 door. The Traxxas is cool but I am a 2 door guy.

I have the older sunset Bronco of that. If they had a 6G 2 door I'd buy another kit.
I like that the Tamiya is about half the price of the Traxxas. This means there’e a remote chance my wife would let me have that one!
Not that I’m being duteous, but so far this year I’ve bought myself a Sur Ron, a mountain bike, and some nice tools, so $600 RC Bronco might not go over so well…

The $50 New Brite R/C from Walmart has a nicely detailed 2 door body, which fits 300mm wheelbase (1/10 scale) chassis like the SCX10 perfectly:
Body was yellow with gray top. I scuffed, primed, then sprayed Rustoleum Cast Iron Gray, wet sanded with 1000 grit, then clear coated. Still need to paint the bumpers, grill, and flares flat black, and the beadlock rings silver.
