A sport button can not cause revs to rise in a manual transmission, unless you mean that the engine revs faster in neutral or accelerates faster.RPMs.

increases accelerator pedal response and provides a sportier steering feel.A sport button can not cause revs to rise in a manual transmission, unless you mean that the engine revs faster in neutral or accelerates faster.
I switch back to 2H when I’m in sportmode. Works just fineMy wife’s Silverado had a 4 auto but the manual said using It all the time could produce extra wear. Does Ford say if it is OK to use sport mode with 4 auto all the time?

I don’t think it makes any difference in output. It just “steepens” the throttle curve. Makes a big difference in my butts opinion. I use it always.I'd love to see someone actually do some real dyno testing with sport mode on 7MT instead of relying completely on butt dynos, lol.
That's why there's a plot of power curve on a dyno, not just a peak numberI don’t think it makes any difference in output. It just “steepens” the throttle curve. Makes a big difference in my butts opinion. I use it always.
Maybe I should say shortens the throttle throw. I think you could achieve the same net feel by mashing the throttle deeper. I don’t think it would change the actual HP/Torque-rpm curve. That's why there's a plot of power curve on a dyno, not just a peak number
I set my F150 to 4A about 110k miles ago and haven't look back since. Both our BL's will be set to 4A as well without any concerns. My wife’s Silverado had a 4 auto but the manual said using It all the time could produce extra wear. Right, I think the 4A is basically all wheel drive? Like a Subaru. You can drive in all wheel drive, doesn't hurt anything. It's not like 4H or 4L. But I disagree on the sport mode in my manual. I just feel like she takes off faster, and I get more response from the turbo without having to stomp on the pedal. I love it.I set my F150 to 4A about 110k miles ago and haven't look back since. As far as Sport in a manual, it is not needed but does change the pedal and steering feel. I consider manuals to be self-Sport.
No. No wastegate changes. My guess is sport mode changes the amount of boost throughout the RPM range more than anything else. More boost, more lower RPM power.
My goal is less boost and higher RPMs, so I keep it in the standard mode.
I find the power of the 2.3L more than adequate as is.
